Brad Scott is a different cattle of fish. Beating his team in finals was one of the sweeter moments of life thus far.

I hate the dirty [censored] and I hope Gawn gets a free kick every time a Geelong player goes near him, just so I can see Scott explode in the box.

Brad Scott coaches North Melbourne.

Can't argue with it, although I don't see Gawn as the complainant.

Melbourne owe Port Adelaide; but by the same token, I fear Geelong 'owe' us this round as we made them look weak in September last year.

"Someone should tell Goodwin that Ryder is 12 centimetres shorter than Gawn and is 14-15 kilograms lighter. Oh, and there’s the small fact that he was playing with a fractured cheekbone.

Obviously Gawn and Melbourne couldn’t handle a few tiny midfielders in Karl Amon, Steven Motlop and 18-year-old first-year player Connor Rozee bumping him off the ball.

Port captain Tom Jonas also had his way with Gawn dropping him off the ball. Michael Christian, the AFL’s Match Review Officer, dealt with Jonas accordingly and fined him $2,000 for the incident.

Jonas has no regrets and said he would do it again.

Rather than whinging to the AFL on the back of a shock loss, Melbourne, Gawn and Goodwin should take a leaf out of Port’s book and step up.

There was nothing illegal about these tactics and it’s what has made our game great for so long.

The Demons need to take responsibility for their own performance or they could be waiting another 55 years to taste premiership success."

Spot on by Cornes.

Many commentators want us to wake up, and become powerful again.  These commentators do not want to mince words.   They say it straight.  as how they see it.

.

There is not point or gains for us,  to just be precious.

It was disappointing that team mates didn’t back up Gawn on the field, but i don’t see asking clarification from Umpires as whinging.

You are a cheap footy Journalist Cane, what happened to your Fire Brigade Career?

Rubbed a few people up the wrong way?

This is where we fall down a little as a club at times.  When we make our draft/trade picks we should be placing a little more emphasis on character, namely a benchmark degree of "mongrel" as part of the assessment!

And I'm not talking about sniping which i don't condone....but flying the flag needs to be a non negotiable.

Cornes? Isn't he the guy who couldn't hack it as a Firefighter and decided he would be a great media person.... wouldn't pizz on him if he was on fire,... sorry maybe a little.

Would love to hear Cornes go after the Hawks for 'seeking clarification' for 3 dubious free kicks:  Unhappy Hawks who waste no time going to the AFL (remember the Clarkson coffee with Gil last year) even tho in the past they had a lot of leeway for their 'unsociable' football.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
