Must be frustrating for Jake but it’s essentially good news.

Must have him pain free for the intense rehab in the States - providing that this surgery has not pushed that date back.

With a little good fortune, he should recover from a scar scrape within 10 days and still be able to carry on with upper body, abdominals and other specific work. He could be running to some extent in the next few days; in full training by the end of next week, as well. We must wish him well for this rate of ongoing recovery in preparation for the season ahead. He is a terrific asset for the MFC and he must be champing at the bit, himself, to return.

Thanks LT for your expert inside medical opinion..?

Apologies for posting my opinion based on the way similar recent injuries have been handled by the club.

Isn’t the purpose of this site for supporters to have discussion?

Lord Travis, you will find there is a group of posters here that don't want to believe its possible that we miss manage injuries and the communication of them ... the usual line is to say you are not a medical expert. Its fair to say none of us are experts on any of the other inner working of the club either but we still post about them. Our track record is poor and many are in denial. Understand we were reviewing the sports science team (Peter Jackson indicated a while ago) but nothing appears to have come if it.

If this guy stays on the park, we'll win a premiership.

Wow jr that is a big one. Does that mean we cannot win without him?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
