I love the way that some of those player’s names just roll off the tongue.

There's a few familiar surnames in that team. Hopefully we get a few games on NITV over the summer so I can tune in

In April we stopped in Halls Creek.  It was amazing to see how many kids you could get on a footy oval for a training run in 37 degrees!

Love love love outback footy

The Team Manager would certainly earn his keep filling out their team sheet !

Is Jake Best named at full back the same Jake Best that played for Casey a few years ago that was supposed to be a rookie list chance? Funny how players move around sometimes; Tiwi Islands seems to be a long way to go to get a kick.

Yep. He and a couple of others fresh from winning the EFL Divvy 1 flag with Vermont (including their coach) are named in the Tiwi team

The Jake Best who I remember playing for Casey was a small forward. If he’s been picked at full back then I guess they don’t have too many key position size players up there on the Tiwi Islands?

They might take the Casey approach to naming players in position. Jake Best kicked 2 goals in that game. He has been through more clubs than Jack Nicklaus.

Brief interview with him after his first game last season. There are a lot of familiar names in that comp. Including an A. Davey wearing #36 at Palmerston

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
