Who are our bottom six? And where do they rate?

I love happy post-win Demonland, a LOT more than post-loss Demonland, but this is classic.

We lose, and it's "shuffling deck chairs", terrible depth, wasting draft picks, no future, etc.

We win, and our depth is amazing and our bottom 6 incredible.

Tomlinson could win a Brownlow and you wouldn't be entirely convinced by him.

His first two games this year have exceeded anything for which you have given him credit.

I'm not going to change my opinion on him after he played well on Alex Peace for a half/no one against Freo and McKernan against St Kilda.

He was well and truly beaten in preseason against good sides and opponents and I'll wait to see more. I've lifted my opinion of him but 2 games isย not enough to be fully convinced.

I agree with the first part of your post and I'm still not convinced by a number of players nor am I all that impressed by those outside the best 22. Hibbo, Melk, Petty and some kids is about it as far as I can see.

Our bottom six are largely young and improving. This club is poised for sustained success. Guys like Jordan, Sparrow, Kozzie, Jackson, Chandler, Bedford, Spargo, Bakerย are all young and starting to step up and help drive this club. Thatโ€™s whatโ€™s exciting me this year.ย
Hibberd, Melksham and co are going to have to earn their spots which is greatย

It's stuck behind a paywall and i haven't read it but there was an article yesterday on the HS called "Goodwinโ€™s band of brothers not easybeats most thought" which is about exciting youngsters and some axed players producing the goods early in 2021 (McDonald, Jetta, ANB, Hunt, Tomlinson).

Reasonably happy with our bottom 6 given we're 2-0 and dealing with some injuries etc.ย

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demonsโ€™ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.
