Fat Ed wants QB as a Collingwood home game.

My point was, in essence, that no clubs, (or at very least none of at least the Melbourne based clubs)  actually own and run their home ground, so why should one or another actually claim home rights with regard to finances when two teams make up a game?

All grounds are significantly propped up by the taxpayer, most of whom are agnostic regards AFL, so why should one, or other, be financial beneficiaries due to the vaguries of a rigged “draw”?

Only fair, if it wasn’t for his generosity we’d be up [censored] creek. I thank Eddie. We should alternate going forward now we are on track

Collingwood get plenty of “Marquee” games.  I’m not in any hurry to agree to this.  Agree wholeheartedly with PJ’s comments

Does anyway know if any part of the MCG super box revenue goes to the club...same with the catering receipts and ground advertising.

With electronic banners around the ground I expect to see clubs demand some degree of display time for their own sponsors;

Wait till Adelaide and Port play hard with Adelaide Oval on these extras assuming their agreement to move from Footy Park didn't win them that battle anyway.

DJ in relation to signage around the ground, the clubs get a % of eyeball time. The AFL/AFL sponsors get the rest, maybe with the ground having some.

That is one of the “perks” for sponsors to partner with AFL clubs is getting share of eyeballs at ground but mainly on TV.

i personally would like to always have round 1 as a home game against the cats at the mcg at 2.10pm start

two oldest clubs in the competition playing against each other at a traditional time

A good idea but can't be implemented because Round 1 sometimes falls over Easter and Geelong is already "locked in" to play Hawthorn on Easter Monday every year.

Ah, good point

I suppose it depends on when Round 1 begins - how often does Easter fall over the march 20-24 period?
