Islam in the West

Not sure what you mean. Why does it take guts to watch a video (Bit strange coming from somebody who's apparently too scared to actually go and talk to people about their faith, preferring to get his info from the Net)?

Anyway, I wasted a few minutes watching it (and yes, you have shown it before, I'm sure) Big deal. Bunch of Muslim wankers saying the same crap that a lot of Christian wankers believe. If you don't follow our religion you'll go to hell. :o

Our country is gradually becoming secular. Good.

As opposed to you projecting your own narrow views. Ah yes evangelical athesim is alive and well.

Who said i was an atheist?  (Im not fwiw -  im an agnostic)

You're an errand boy, sent by grocery clerks, to collect a cheque.

Er - what? That doesn't make sense. What cheque?

Ok , I admit it, you've got me there - I'm not that smart (although, to be fair,  I can, at least, spell "you're")

Personally, not that anybody cares, I'm an agnostic. I take my creed from that great American moral philosopher, Iris Dement (youtube Let The Mystery Be)

People can hold whatever religious beliefs they want.  No skin off my nose. But if you look back at my post, I was referring to people who tell other people they are going to hell. If you tell me I'm going to hell, be you Muslim or Christian, then you are, in my humble opinion, a [censored]. Of the first order. I'll defend to the death (hopefully not mine) your right to say it, but I'll also defend my own right to think you're a [censored].

By the way, Emblem, who are you? I haven't noticed you before. Have you been here in another guise?

Europe couldn't remain brain dead forever, but the issue will only go away until the new arrivals out breed the whities, and vote the headscarf as compulsory for ALL women, and open slather for any form of radical preaching from the insane imams.

It's only a matter of time. Western Europe is screwed. The lefties (media/academia included) are the sole cause.

Do people seriously want our country to go the way of Europe? Lefties are just a bunch of spineless, scared dullards.

I think you will find that our resident lefties have exactly the same opinion as the globalists who have destroyed western civilisation in Europe. They will never admit there is a huge conflict between Islamic ideology and Western culture, and that the two are doomed to clash in the streets in the decades to come.

Lefties have zero interest in protecting western culture, only in punishing whity, and diluting his evil blood for the mystical sins of the father. They believe in "human" culture, not individual cultures of yesteryear. You know, the ones that built the modern world.

A fine example of the - what was it? "mature conversation" Pro promised us at the start of this thread.

Ethan, I'm still waiting for a reply - how many children were killed in as a result of the illegal invasion of Iraq? I'm not asking for much - a simple figure from any independent body will do (I notice in this morning's Age the Medical Association for the Prevention of War estimated that around a million died all up)

Or do your statistics only go one way?

What are you talking about? What are these mystical sins? Who is this "Father"?

I presume I'm one of the "lefties" you're referring to, but I don't understand what you're saying. How can blood be evil? What is "human" culture, as opposed to "individual" culture? Is there any culture that isn't human?  What have you been smoking?

Of course everybody realises there's conflict between Muslim fundamentalists and the rest of the world (btw, it's not just Western countries of course - see China).

I'm more than happy for terrorists to be dealt with with the full force of the law. My main concern, however, is to maintain good relationships with the overwhelming majority of Muslims in our country who want nothing more than to get on with their lives in peace.

You don't get that by dragging up every negative thing you can find about jihadis on the Net and posting it on a football website.

Medical Association for Prevention of War

The Medical Association for Prevention of War (Australia) works for the elimination of all weapons of mass destruction and the prevention of armed conflict. We promote peace through research, advocacy, peace education and partnerships.

A Lefty rag quoting a lefty rag. You will find that almost all of your high profile international aid/care/advocacy groups are left wing. It's a Soros thing.

1: I presume I'm one of the "lefties" you're referring to, but I don't understand what you're saying. How can blood be evil? What is "human" culture, as opposed to "individual" culture? Is there any culture that isn't human?  What have you been smoking?

3: I'm more than happy for terrorists to be dealt with with the full force of the law.

4: My main concern, however, is to maintain good relationships with the overwhelming majority of Muslims in our country who want nothing more than to get on with their lives in peace.

5: You don't get that by dragging up every negative thing you can find about jihadis on the Net and posting it on a football website.

1: Of course you are duh. You are more reliable than a TAG HEUER at leaping to the defence of left leaning issues.

2: Not just fundamentalists Jara. Even many of the devotees who would not make the effort to remove my head with a carving knife would vote for laws that would change the country I love into a sharia state.

3: See, that's a HUGE chasm in our thinking right there. The full force of the law is dealt AFTER a crime has been committed, or a plot uncovered. I believe we should take the extremely simple step of preventing the insidious ideology from entering our country in the first place.

4: Jesus H Christ. My main concern is not for the "feelings" of an incompatible ideology, it is for the lives of my family, loved ones, and fellow countrymen. Islam is completely at odds with the Aussie culture. Its beyond debate mate.

5: This is not simply about Jihadis. Every major piece of Islamic ideology is incompatible with western civilisation. Reform, or remove. Simple as that.

Thanks Faulty - only time for a quick reply. Might answer at length tomorrow.

1. Not sure why you're criticising the Medical Association. I simply asked Ethan (Mister Statistics) a fairly simple question. I just quoted the Physicians as an example. He can quote the Hare Krishnas for all I care - any reputable organisation will do - I simply wanted him to tell me how many kids were killed as a result of the invasion of Iraq. Pretty straightforward request, I'd have thought.

2. You keep saying Islam is "at odds with Aussie culture". It's "beyond debate, mate." Remove or reform. What is your plan for doing that? How do you propose to remove the ones born here? How do you "reform" a religion? What do you do with those who don't want to be reformed? Who decides whether somebody's reformed - George Pell? More detail, thanks.

3, You still haven't answered my questions about your strange post - the one about mystical fathers and evil blood. This makes no sense. In fact, it sounds like Catholic theology, something I've no truck with at all. Is it something you picked up in the Philippines?

Congrats Pro - you must be thrilled.

And I see your point - the burqa is a huge problem in Australian universities - so huge that I haven't seen one in twenty years of working in them.

You still haven't answered my earlier question. When was the last time you actually saw a burqa? (I'm not denying they're out there - I probably just live in the wrong part of town).

The burqa is a huge problem for every subjugated woman in the world.  Some are brainwashed into thinking they're good for them, and some are so petrified they have no answer to their ordeal.

And you'll note, this thread is about Islam in the "West" and I consider Australia the West.

As for seeing burqas ?  Not often.  Thankfully, radical Muslims are a small percentage of our population.  Let's keep it that way.

Obviously, you either don't understand Islam or don't have children.  Me ?  I don't want this political ideology anywhere near me, my offspring, or any future generations.

It's like inviting cancer.

Im curious. What do you mean by not often?  When was the last time you saw one? (I presume you'd remember, since you seem so afraid of them )

Islamic ideology simply doesn’t belong in the West. They have no intention of assimilating, see the UK.

How could anyone be afraid of a black sack ?

Unlike you, I despise the subjugation of women.  It's not the sack, it's the anti freedom.

In the last year, or so I've seen them in the CBD and Seaworld of all places on the Gold Coast.

You lack culture, Jara, which is why you're quite happy to throw ours away.

Im not surprised you've seen em at the Gold Coast - there's a strong subculture of surfing among the burqa set.

Just joking, but i swear this is true - i met a Saudi woman last year  (not in burqa but was wearing niqab) who told me her hobby was skydiving.

I lack culture?  My wife agrees with you  (although she thinks it's because im always wasting my time at the footy rather than going to concerts)

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
