Oliver, Hibberd, Garlett and Jetta all considered to be in the mix at this stage.

Awesome to read that they recognise Jetta as 'criminally underrated'. I feel that he's finally beginning to get the recognition he deserves.

Jetta wil look ordinary when he's one out in a marking contest and conceding 10-12 centimetres. But by god he's clever and he often outpoints bigger, stronger opposition. His record against dangerous small forwards this year is first class.

He's had a chequered career but i'm glad he and we persevered. He's the epitome of the player you hope has the ultimate success.

Not to mention excellent decision making. One of the safest disposers of the ball in the side.

Jetta knows his game and limits.  He reads the ball very well and jumps at the contest with very good timing. Also a very good mark.

Jetta is one of our most important players. Good to see some recognition come his way, great guy too it seems after having a few words with him last week at the family night. I haven't checked this but I was told Jetta has only conceded 2 goals this year both by Betts.

Remarkable if correct.

That's great for recognition as a shut down guy. He's the new Wrecker.

And if Nev's surname was Selwood he'd have a couple extra frees per game. The most hit-in-the-head non-rewarded player I can recall.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
