Hawks are in for a world of pain no 1st pick this year, no kids coming through I think they made a mistake bringing in Mitchell and omeara, they will probably lose Burgoyne, hodge, Gibson they have no depth will need a full rebuild

If I found a magic lamp and rubbed it and the genie granted me one football related wish only, which must immediately be followed by at least 5 years of jolly good floggings for the same team the wish was granted to, I would gleefully accept a Hawthorn like reign of 4 premierships in 9 years Brendan.

God I hope the Hawks do semi decently this year, I can't stand the Saints.

"Let's be semi-decent!" should be on their banner next week.

Is Fitzy still there ? Could we grab him back now ?

Jaeger O Mearas injuries have slowed him down big time, he is getting the ball but is totally ineffectual and has lost so much of his acceleration.

I reckon most of us were saying this would be the case last year...

Youre right, AF.

Makes you wonder whats going on at Hawthorn and was it a desperation move by Clarko?  They gave up a lot to get him and the trade has disaster written all over it.

yes, maybe true.....but....it's only 3 games after  2 whole years out. we need to give him a bit more time. he's only just turned 23

Nah, he's not one of ours. We don't need to stick by him. Let's sink the boots in and put some more pressure on Hawthorn and him to succeed. ;)

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
