not sure I follow...pick 86 is not for a rookie

Rather than use 86 on a speculative kid and have to give them a 2 year contract, we will us it to upgrade wagner and use his rookie spot, and a 1 year deal, on a speculative kid

I had a look at the Richmond game last night. Wagner's game was very good, especially some of his work in close. I had a feeling at seasons end he would be upgraded, and who knows what the future holds for him. He will be battling a good number of players for a spot for sure, but he proved to me that he is competent enough to play at senior AFL level. Josh gets a full pre season under his belt  and the competition for places in the senior side gets just that little bit tougher. And I'm sure neither Josh or the match committee want to see him as a senior player languishing at Casey like Dean Terlich.

I get that..Just didnt quite get how VP was positioning its value.

cheers

OK with the 2 years.

Showed promise off half back. Nice height at 189cm and will hopefully add some more muscle to his 84kgs. Smooth runner and good overhead. Needs to be more consistent with his disposal which will hopefully improve after his second AFL pre season.

I think this a a good thing. Wagner was selected in the rookie draft last year and ends up playing 14 games in his first season. a proper reward for a kid that achieves as much as he has in his first season.

I am sure he will not rest there and will be looking to play as many games as he can no matter what the competition is for a place in the 22.

Well done that man.
