So the 3 picks combined in a multi win bet is showing a dividend of about 100-1

And any of the 3 doubles is offering at least 18-1

The 3 picks in a place multi adds up to about 6-1 (with a boost)

Value all round

For those who look to the colours for luck, we've got the Red & Blue covered (Mazu & Anamoe) and for good measure we've got the Green & Gold covered (Intellective)

Good luck punters

Magic Max has traveled from Adelaide to run at Caulfield today. Race 6 Number 7 . Dual Acceptors have a high winning record when they are scratched to run interstate and the name is steaming at me. I know the real magic Max is still in Adelaide to watch the Grand Final.

I'm on it as well ... great minds and all that, Steve

That is going to be one hell of a race, that field is exceptional

The money has come for Anamoe ... into 4.20 now but the 3yo is going to have to bring its absolute best (I'm happy with the $6 I got)

I said at work that I’ll move a bonus bet over to it, and I’ve been out all day so I’ve been away, doing crap again, got h8me with a few mins before the race and as it came home I started laughing…then crying cos I didn’t move the bonus bet to it.

What a brave ride.

Well it was but we know that Think it Over isn't great in really heavy going so the trainer & jockey might have thought that they had nothing to lose by going down the extreme  outside ... it just took off left!

But it caught everyone out and was a brilliant plan anyway ... $2.3Million to the connections and you can bet that Nash Rawiller will get a decent 'sling' haha

Yep ... if you mention a horse in that way you've always got to have something on it

Even just 10 @ 50-1 is all it would have taken

I'm kicking myself!

Hopefully we can finish off with 4 winners!!

You never know!

Best Bet Saturday

Caulfield R4 #12 Mamounia 6.00/1.90

Wow. Not racing but Melbourne are now $3.00 to win the flag. I can not remember a team being that short after four games.

Best bet. Caulfield R3 no 9 witchachar star $9

Point Nepean is fav but last start it was 8kg lighter and reckon there is good value in this horse.

2 best bets in so far and the place multi is already starting to show a bit of value (the win multi as well of course)

There is some real value around at Sydney & Melbourne ... just a matter of getting a few collects so as to at least break even

 Best bet Saturday

Caulfield Race 7 No.12 Grandslam

$6.5 (W) & $2.5 (P)

Good luck and have a Safe and Happy Easter everyone.

Same to you, DZ.  Happy Easter!

And I had Grandslam picked out as well ... J Kah just needs to get the horse into a nice position in the running (with cover) ... possibly 5th or 6th one-out from the fence (?)

Seems a real progressive type Gorg ... drawn nicely for a good run on the speed.  Can stalk 'Point Nepean' with a 3.5kg advantage in the weights (and over 2400m, that's significant)

5.5kg unless there has been a change? PN is listed at 59.5 WS at 54

The jockey (Alana Kelly) can claim 2kgs on Point Nepean

Ah yes, silly me. Concentrating more on my beer brewing at the min and missed that.

Exactly how I hope it pans out Macca. If it gets there without too much work early from the wide we should be happy and then it is every chance.
And is this the first time we’re racing here in Vic on Good Friday?

Yeah I'd say so ... vaguely remember betting at Ascot (WA) previously on GF

Including Sale today of course with $500k 'Country Discovery' A more than decent field too ... an exotic bet or a same race multi beckons!

Thoughts?  @Gorgoroth@Mr Steve@Dee Zephyr

Lombardo for me. Very good field and quite a few can win but if Lombardo is running I’m on it.

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
