Heavy 10 at Rosehill? Didnt see that coming. :(

Gee another day of a few races with small fields at Morphetville. Although there are a few 8 or 9 horse races which are good i think...

Apologies for lateness of this but my best is Mastering race 9 no 5  Flemington. Should be a class above and form jockey on board helps.

By the by my other best bets were alizee (First time I will have backed it) and fifty stars so good alignment today.

I had a ripper start to my day snagging swift sis in the first (having had a saver bet on it at its last stsrt which it won at 30s). Love it as it gets my stake back so any wind from here are gravy

Gator has picked the winner in races 2,  3,  4 & 5 ... all value picks too

Needless to say,  I'm now playing with house money!

Well done. How do you select the winner tho? There are 4 selections for each race?

As such in race 5 ... 3,  7,  2,  5

Slight correction to Gator's tips ... he missed on race 3.  I think I was counting one of JJ's earlier tips in the mix.

But if Gator or JJ have a good day I win as well.  I only back their value runners though ... gotta be paying at least 3.50 or better.  JJ also tipped me into Lucky Flipper ($6.50) in race 6 but I missed on Light the Waves ($4.00) in race 7 as the horse opened at $3.00 but drifted.

Good get with Fifty Stars too Wadda ... I threw it into a couple of late multi's but dipped out.  Not to worry though as I had a decent day at the races.

And we might have the heir apparent to Winx with Mystic Journey ... well,  the next dominant horse at least.  A commanding performance in the All Star Mile.  Beat some gun horses yet was 3-wide without cover for much of the race.  Cost $11k as a yearling.

Australian Group & Listed Races

Hong Kong Derby tomorrow with former Australian galloper 'Dark Dream' installed as 2nd favourite.  The winner should come from the top 4 listed runners.  Here is the form for the race

And here is the replay of the Coolmore Classic raced today at Rosehill.

There are a stack of Australian horses racing up at HK with the latest winner of a big event being a good case-in-point.  Ex Australian galloper Furore wins the HK Derby in style with Hugh Bowman on board.

And with the relaxed quarantine laws there's sure to be more Australian representation as the prize money is fantastic up there yet the local standard often doesn't measure up.

In fact,  6 of the 14 starters in the HK Derby started their career's in Australia.  Our jockeys are cashing in up there as well.

Past the worst of it thanks Wadda - still a bit proppy but a few more days of rest should do the trick. Starting to feel my age ... no longer bullet-proof,  that's for sure!  3 lots of anti-biotics has knocked me around.

Anyway,  good luck with the multi fellas ... best bets for the place seems quite a sensible move given how tough the fields are tomorrow.   I took Mosh Music for the place & the win in 2 separate multi's.

Gai has the first 2 winners in Sydney. Very fit horses on a heavy track. Might pay to follow today.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
