Doesn't look like we'll get much rain in Sydney so I'll commit to my win choice in our trifecta race (The All Aged Stakes - Randwick Race 7)

I have to give Brave Smash another chance ... back to the 1400m which is somewhat ideal and the way they're saying the race will be run suits the horse as well.  Drawn 5 which is not a bad barrier at the distance (at Randwick)

So here's how the configuration sits so far (3 - 5 - 5) ...

  • Win/2nd/3rd  Trapeze Artist
  • Win/2nd/3rd  Brave Smash
  • Win/2nd/3rd  ????????????
  • 2nd/3rd  ???????????
  • 2nd/3rd  ???????????

So it's over to @binman for the other winner and then @Demon77 for the other 2 horses that can get into the placegetters.  Good luck!

Ha Ha Macca, I thought this would be easier than trying to find a best bet.

I have 4 horses down for the place at the moment, hoping binman picks one of them so I’m down to 3.

Yep .. the pressure is on you D77 ha ha!

But hey,  some are at their best under pressure so fingers crossed.

I actually reckon it's a good way to do it ... I like the fact that you've got 4 horses earmarked too.

Of course,  if our first 3 run in the first 3 then it will be all academic.

Best Bet: Randwick Race3 No.2 Dothraki Current odds: Tab $2.70

Ultra consistent gelding. Only one unplaced start in the last 5 and that was by only 3.9len.

The dangers I came up with in the race are Burning Passion (3) and Bolero King (8). Dothraki beat both of them home last start carrying 59kg. He carried 2kg more than Burning Passion and 6kg more than Bolero King on that occasion. He meets them much better this week at the weights and for that reason I make him my top selection.

Respect for the top weight also coming back from 2 Group 1’s.

The Zephyr has accepted at Ballarat on Sunday. Race 7. Very surprised they would choose to run the horse at 1000m. I will have some mail by Sunday for those that would consider a buck or two on him. Remember, still on a 17 run losing streak. ??

So were the Dees, remember....against North.....so anything is possible.

Nobody beats Zephyr 18 times in a row~!!

Ok...Best Bet: Im going Randwick Race 9 No 7 Osborne Bulls......$2.30.....obviously named after Ozzie Osborne, this horse brained em last start and will brain em again on Saturday, just like his namesake, who brained himself~!!

Ok so that now gives us currently:   (with Binman still to come)

So far SoKool  $4.40

Dothraki    $2.70

Osborne Bulls  $2.30

For a total of:     27.32/1

Again i think all of these will come in come Sat. Get on~!

Edit: (just got 34/1 with odds boost @ Ladbrokes)

Interestingly D77 i just saw that Ladbrokes have Dothraki up as their favourite of the day and therefore up the odds to 3.50 as a special bet.

Also note El Dorado Dreaming is running around at Randwick in Race 6 at $8.50 after being as much as 250/1 when it saluted a few weeks ago.

I think our picks are pretty good this week.

You’re up around Ballarat? I’ll flick you the old owners pass to head down to the track and get the Zephyr over the line.

I also like the Best Bests so far. Maybe, just maybe they will salute to lift the mood on Demonland this week.

It’s on Sunday Wadda. Race 7 3.50pm. I’ve looked on a couple of sites for odds but they’re not showing yet.

Have only just finished making my final selections and emailing our bets to my betting partner. I found this race super hard in terms of choosing another winner bet in so far as i i kept coming back to trapeze artist (though am concerned it had its grand final last week).

I'm going to have to say Le Romain, but really only because Brave Smash and Trapeze Artist were taken. A good horse but again - and at the risk of being stubborn and repeating my error of last week, i'm thinking on speed will be the go with the rail out 6 metres and no wind to bother front runners. Le Romain will be running on hard and i think pinch a place, but of course can win.

For my bet in that race i have actually landed on a box trif of these 3 horses and no win bet - which is very unusual for me. Won't pay much but i find it hard to see what else might place - though I'm somewhat has good rating

My best bet for the weekend is Sprightly Lass at Caulfied.

Some very short horses at Caulfield and i think most will salute - French Emotion, Widgee Turf, Kiwia, Nature Strip and Cliff's Edge. Of those only Widgee Turf and perhaps Kiwia are backable really.

But i think Sprightly Lass is overs at 3.60 as i think there is only one real danger in that race, Property. The form through Dothraki is very solid and it always gives a great sight.

Best value for the day (apart from Sprightly Lass) Higher Ground  at at Randwick

Best longshots for the day Mo Femme at Morphetville and Guerrier at Randwick

Winning selections are in so here’s the final piece of the puzzle.

Selections for 2nd and 3rd:

8. Tom Melbourne

11. Showtime

Hartnell was the other obvious choice but I couldn’t fit 3 into 2 and wanted to add some value, not that it would make much of a difference anyway.  As @Macca stated previously, members can add extra runners if they choose to do so.

So here are our 4 best bets (best available odds) ...

Randwick  Race  3  No.2  Dothraki $3.50

Randwick  Race  5  No.4  So Far Sokool  $4.80

Caulfield   Race 7  No.11  Sprightly Lass  $4.20

Randwick  Race 9  No.7  Osborne Bulls $2.50

And our trifecta at Randwick  Race 7

  • W/2/3  .... No.10  Trapeze Artist
  • W/2/3  .... No.2    Brave Smash
  • W/2/3  .... No.1    Le Romain
  • 2/3 .......... No.8   Tom Melbourne
  • 2/3 .......... No.11 Showtime

1, 2, 10 / 1, 2, 8, 10, 11 / 1, 2, 8, 10, 11

There some value there and best of luck to all!

Love ya work guys. Good luck to all.

Dothraki loomed as the winner but as the caller noted the horse’s run stopped quickly. Plenty of racing left to make amends.

It looked the winner at least twice ... and then did a Tom!

As you said D77,  there's plenty left for the afternoon

So Far Sokool had every chance but never really threatened.  Had no kick like it did at its last start.

Spot on Macca, I thought the horse would rail up and go whoosh, like the first two in Dothrakis race.

Edit: I meant in the the Holy Snow Race.

There's a few favourites going down D77 ... Nature Strip just got beaten by a bolter

Lol, bolter alright.......maybe Trapeze Artist gets rolled and we still end up with the right combo.

The former Japanese ( Satono Rasen) galloper creates some interest in the All Aged. Now with Waller and hasn’t won under 2000m.

I have boxed our first 3 and also had a go at the First4.

I much prefer to bet on the Group 1 WFA races over the classic distances ... it's where my main interest lies with the thoroughbreds so I suppose that stands to reason.

As an example,  I haven't had a bet in the next race (The Champagne Stakes) for the above reason.  Too hard

Seabrook wins for those who have followed the horse ... El Dorado Dreaming was a good thing beaten.  Couldn't get a run for a long way in the straight and then flashed home.

Didn’t that rattle home Macca? Proved the last start win wasn’t a fluke. Nice odds for Seabrook, I thought Long Leaf was a winning chance but was stuck 3 wide the trip and had nothing left in the straight.

The DL trifecta works for the first time. What a battle that was down the straight. Very brave by Le Romain and we almost had a $10 winner in the tri. Showtime third by a nostril, phew.

Yep .. a good start D77

The trifecta effectively paid about 3-1 for the full outlay and if Le Romain had have held on it probably would have paid a fair bit more.

Full marks to the winner though - Trapeze Artist is some sort of horse.

Good pick with 'Showtime' mate ... I can honestly say I wouldn't have included it if it was just me.  The team wins first time up.

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.

  • CASEY: Northern Bullants

The Casey Demons travelled to a windy Cramer Street, Preston yesterday and blew the Northern Bullants off the ground for three quarters before shutting up shop in the final term, coasting to a much-needed 71-point victory after leading by almost 15 goals at one stage. It was a pleasing performance that revived the Demons’ prospects for the 2025 season but, at the same time, very little can be taken from the game because of the weak opposition. These days, the Bullants are little more than road kill. The once proud club, situated behind the Preston Market in a now culturally diverse area, is currently facing significant financial and on-field challenges, having failed to secure a win to date in 2025.

  • GAMEDAY: Sydney

It’s Game Day, and the Demons have a golden opportunity to build on last week’s stirring win by toppling Sydney at the MCG. A victory today would keep them firmly in the hunt for a finals spot and help them stay in touch with the pack chasing a place in the Top 8. Can the Dees make it two in a row and bring down the Swans?
