Alizee now out to 18.00 (enhanced) in the Coolmore Classic ... that's overs.  A beaten favourite last start finishing 6th but only 1.8 lengths off the winner (Shoals)

I've included it in a trifecta as a possible winner ... good/class horses always deserve a 2nd chance.

G'day punters.

Had a funny day last week. had to last at Fleminton to get a winner there but blitzed at Randwick to end up with a nice profit.

Best etc today:

Best Bet: Hear the Cahnt

Best value: He Ecksels

Best longshot: Latin Boy

Alister Clarke Stakes on in 15 minutes ... Cliff's Edge is now odds on but should be too classy for this lot.   Hope so anyway

I wanted tp take Cliffs Edge as my best bet, but i thought it was best to stick to the Saturday otherwise it will start getting messy. What did it pay in the end?

Not a lot Wadda. In the end $1.65 fixed. Not sure if a higher price was on offer.

So here are the 3 best bets (with 1 more to follow) ...

Rosehill  Race 4  No.1  Written By (2.30 enhanced)

Flemington  Race 5  No.1  Tosen Stardom  (2.45 best available)

Morphettville  Race 9  No.5  Despatch  (3.30 best available)

A multi returns about 14-1 as Wadda indicated but backing the horses separately could return about 18-1 if you let the winnings ride.

I like all 3 tips and I reckon we're in with a big show this week.

Not sure what you mean by this? Do you mean roll over your winning onto the next horse.....because the tote will pay more than fixed?

Yeah Wadda I meant that if you took the first leg at best possible fixed odds (or enhanced/boosted odds) and then let the winnings roll over to the next leg where you bet the same way.  The odds can end up being better overall by doing it that way.

Anyway,  I've done my usual bets with our picks ... multi up the 4 (out already with 'Hear the Chant' not winning!) and then a small outlay on the 4 trebles.

James Jordan picked the trifecta in order in the 1st at Morphettville.  If he keeps that up we'll have discovered a licence to print money

Does he only give them out before each race though? Has he any bets he mentioned for later on??

Ah ok,  i thought that was what you meant. I would find it hard to put that 3rd race on after winning the first 2...haha....take the money and run. Thats kinda why multis are so good.

I missed Hear the Chant....bad luck BM, next week is always better.

Well on Racing.com the 'Best-bets; were the same except the 4 was named 4th instead of the 7.   So the first 3 picks were the same.

Tim Edwards also put his tips up but I don't know anything about him.

The 'Best-bet' picks have been up since Wednesday where as Tim's tips only went up today.

I'm just going to keep an eye out ... are you on twitter Wadda?  Maybe we could find out his tips that way

Well we know that James gives his tips out just before the race so that's something.

I did my form for Flemington based on it being a leaders tracks and if i proved to be correct was confident Holbien would lead and win. It looks like i was right about the leaders track and if so i could well be in for a good day as i have backed leaders from go to whoa.

Well James Jordans tips aren't the same as the best-bet tips on racing.com.

Just noticed the winner at Morphetville R2 was ridden by the trainer. Unless there are two Shayne Cahills out there. Nice divvy by the way.

Nice win by 'Sunlight' although she didn't have it all her way ... needed the gallop according to the jockey & trainer.

Written By had to fight hard to keep that cheeky Sandbar at bay. The Slipper looms as a cracking race.

Yeah D77 ... 'Sandbar' wasn't far away (1.4 lengths) in it's last run won by Santos.  'Written By' ran half a second quicker than Sunlight today as well.  Races are raced with different tempo's so the time isn't the be all and end all.

But as you said,  the Slipper could be a beauty.

Strong win by Written By.......still unbeaten. Im not getting off just yet. Will be a great Slipper next week.

Come on Tosen.

Yep ... it's either unexplainable or there's possibly a good reason.

Tosen will be decent odds in its next run.   It was beaten a long way from home.

You’ve talked me into it Macca. A flutter at those odds can’t hurt.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
