Not really relevant to the thread title, but what a difference a successful season makes (other than Melksham’s lack of pressure)

Credit to Nibbler for finding that missing 5% and then some. His defensive effort was great for years but he really did panic with the ball and at the contest. He and the coaches clearly did some fantastic work to cut out the fumbling and panic kicking that had plagued his game. One of the more stunning turnarounds. I expect he’ll poll very well in the B+F

I hope the fact that he failed to make the cut at Melbourne hasn’t soured relations between Jeff and the club. He always seemed pretty happy as a Demon.

From Woewodin article link posted in another thread

Woewodin was one of several familiar names at the combine including Sharks teammates Josh Cripps (brother of Carlton co-captain Patrick), Corey Warner (brother of Sydney Swan Chad), South Fremantle’s Jesse Motlop (son of ex-Port Adelaide/North forward Daniel), Subiaco’s Richard Farmer (nephew of Melbourne champion Jeff) and Swan Districts’ Rhett Bazzo (son of late WAFL great Steve).

You heard anything about Richard Farmer WJ ? That Round 21 performance looks impressive on paper

Well said. Our most improved player by a mile for me after Kozzie.

I reckon he found more than five % and has gone to a new level. Certainly fixed his goal kicking and seems to have become a lot more smoother. As you mentioned less fumbling.

His running and tackling efforts are very, very good.

When is the BNF?

I don't think there is a date yet. One idea was to hold it at the G in front of fans but have heard nothing since.

Don’t forget Salem. His already A+ performance goes to another level each year and he was outstanding in the GF.

ANB also worked hard on his left foot, becoming very reliable on that side as well, gave him an extra string to his bow.

Dunno about that. There's a high % of AFL footy fans that are women, many more than other male dominated sports, more so than cricket or soccer. I know of many footy mad mum's that have determined their kid's preferences.

Likewise most draftees want to be in the same state, the same city as their family. That would be the true 'overwhelming' factor.

Whilst Jeff might have a soft spot for the Dees and say he'd like his kid there, the reality of family unity might not lure the kid far from home.

But here's hoping he's a gun and chooses the Dees, hey...

I wouldn’t under estimate the power of our recent flag in this. It makes us just so much more attractive as a destination. If you doubt that, just listen to the heart felt interviews with Jack Viney post the grannie where he related how hard it was for him when he first arrived at the Dees when we were the pits. It is so much easier when you are successful, that is assuming you are an elite talent which will enable you to make the team. Few are in that class…

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
