Correct, it was Garland and number 40 pushed him.

Luke Goetz.

I've never heard of the jerk!

Nor have the MRP ?

A far more "dangerous tackle", and deliberate, malicious with severe injury risk than Oliver's great tackle last week.

PS - indefensible now that he has been charged

I just don't know that with the team that we had out there, we would have been able to.

I just hope Hogan doesn't miss too many games this year. Our structure and intent moving forward isn't as decisive when he's not there.

I'd be jumping over the fence too. He did it to protect his legs from crashing straight into a steel fence

No. The beer tent was down that end. It was 30deg and Judy was after a frothie. Don't blame him.

He did take a suspiciously long time to come back up.... just the right amount of time to find a beer, and have a quick scull

Young Dog Goetz found guilty of misconduct at Tribunal

Knocked on head...fine increased ........good :)

"Goetz, who was flanked on Tuesday by coach Luke Beveridge and football manager Graham Lowe, told the Tribunal the incident was a reflex action and not a push after Garland "diverted in front" of him."

The pup was coerced into the appealing by his coach.  Im really starting to take a dislike to Beveridge.

Doesn't look like a reflex action to protect oneself to me... and where was the concern showed for the opposition player once they had gone over the fence? Just turned around and walked off

To me this was damning...even if it was unintentional as he claimed as Garland changed direction into him  - he had zero interest in the aftermath of his action.

It was a cheap shot , simple as that.  Was a dog act and he got collared.

Mark my words McDonald and Garland will cost us alot of goals this year.

Give it a rest.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
