fwiw, cal twomey believes that kalani white is 'leaning' towards joining the mfc rather than gc17

he also said that he expects him to be - at this very early stage of the year - outside the top 25 prospects in this year's draft crop

    Seriously though I think GCS are set at most positions for the time being based on what I saw on Saturday

    Don't they also have a busload of academy picks to find room for this year too? Kalani might be low on their priorities.

    Yep. I reckon it would be 50/50 they could even take him at this stage given their key position depth.

    Much smarter that he chooses the Dees at this point given the ages of our key backs and rucks.

    From what I heard a pretty standard game. Nothing flashy just solid.

    The AFL want strong Queensland teams so they will love that.

    Will create opportunities of players potentially moving back to VIC…. Need to be ready

    Witts 32 , Moyle, Reid and Knobel.

    Gawn and Campbell both 33.

    That I’m not sure about, assuming he played back but obviously it’s been said this year he wants to be put in the ruck and forward. We’ll get a better look come the allies game and if he cracks into the vfl side.

      As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
