I'm just excited when our team manages to kick more than 100 points in a game.

Lets start there and then aim for bigger things.

It's been a while since a key forward has kicked 100, who and when was the last one?

Just watching the YouTube highlights of his 44 goals and it made me realize that it wouldn't be a massive surprise or step up for him to double his output.

That puts him at 88 goals.

its not that many short of 100.

And he did that in around 8 minutes.....

talking of coleman medals

has anyone won the coleman medal where someone kicked more goals for the season?

i'm talking about where someone kicked enough goals in the finals to surpass the coleman medallist's tally at end of home and away

Home and away only isn't it? But good question, has that ever happened?

Buddy did it last. 08 I think... He was 21 or so, so it was a while ago.

If Hogan kicks 100, we're absolutely playing finals football next year.

Not sure if Pendles has really thought this through - unless, of course, he was also saying Melbourne, as a club, is the big mover next year and it's finals bound.

I'd like to see Jeffy G kick 50 next year. And I reckon if he can kick straight, he will.

I'm sure it happened during the Dunstall/Ablett/Lockett/Modra days.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
