Pacquiao v Mayweather

The big day is here.

Having a Filipina partner, and having lived there the past 4 years, I know what this fight means to the Philippines.

Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, across the country, packs into bars/pubs/cafes, to watch Manny fight. Its an awesome experience to be there during one of his bouts. He is almost his own religion there.

Of course, I'm hoping for a Pacqiuao win, but this could go either way.

Who's camp are you in, and who do you think will win?

Go Manny!!

I'm team Manny. Just researching if I'll be able to watch the game at the G with my Country Membership gen admin ticket. I see the MCC are putting it on, hopefully one of the other bars that I can access will too.

In a perfect world it'll start at half time, Manny will K.O. the loudmouth in the first 3 and we won't miss any of the Dees win!

And now we have McGregor vs Mayweather.

Vegas are saying that 93% of the money coming in has gone on McGregor.  I suppose the odds on offer for Conor are hard to resist.

The fight is scheduled to start at 1pm on Sunday (AEST) but may start and hour or so later.  I'll be tuning in if only because it's a fascinating match-up.

The best defensive boxer in the business vs a puncher's chance?  I may be selling McGregor a bit short though ... who knows?

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

It's Game Day and Clarry's 200th game and for anyone who hates Carlton as much as I do this is our Grand Final. Go Dees.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
