There have been no posts to date responding to this thread but the articles contain a wealth of information about the potential draft pool.

Is it possible for this to be made a "sticky" please so that it doesn't get lost in the pack?

Reading through these and doing only google research. Jack Steele looks like he would be a good get. Nominations for him tomorrow. Do you think he would be worth our third round? If it is enough.

Medium midfielders:
Damien Cavka sounds decent as an outside mid. They reckon he'd have broken the beep record and apparently he has good skills. I'd sign him up and let him run all day. Hawthorn have drafted some endurance freaks on the wing and they are paying off for them.

By the way, so many of these kids are born in the first few months of the year. Brayshaw and Petracca are both born early January. Is that just a coincidence?

So I'd look hard at Corey Ellis as he's born in October. Probably 6 months behind some of these guys in physical development. Same with Connor Menadue. Western Jets seems the place to be for midfielders this year. Maybe it's all the new housing out in the West boosting the talent or something.

Here's my pick if we keep #23

Dean Gore (Sturt)

Born 26.6.1996, 183cm, 86kg

AFL biography: Medium midfielder who reads the game very well and is very strong in the contest. Has good burst of speed and elite endurance and played a pivotal role in South Australia's NAB AFL Under-18 Championships winning team averaging 15.3 possessions (7.7 contested) and 6.5 tackles across all 6 matches. Has played senior football with Sturt.

Id identified Gore as well plus either Bampton for 2nd round pick which Im really keen to keep.

Peter Bampton (Norwood)

Born 15.4.1996, 182cm, 83kg

AFL biography: Hard running, strong bodied medium midfielder with an appetite for the contest. Has played senior football over the past couple of seasons for Norwood before injuring his ankle and missing the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships. Has an excellent ability to extract the footy from the stoppage and run hard forward. Averaging 19 disposals and three clearances at senior SANFL level.

Brenton Phillips, SANFL: "He just hasn't been able to get going because of injury, unfortunately. He had a bad shoulder and a bit of a foot or ankle problem so he couldn't get a run at the national championships and he would have been in our leadership group if not our captain. He's a quality individual who has a real team and club focus. He's worthy of a spot on a list. The question mark is his ability to cover the ground and spread from a contest, but he's a very good inside player."

He's one I've been wanting to get hold of as well 'Jack'.

From what I've seen of him he holds his position well and reads stoppages well, has good hands in close, has a good kick on him, can kick a goal, is not afraid of running both ways and lays a good tackle.

Then let's keep his name secret, just between you and me.

I think a few are waking up. A lot of the phantoms had him in the 70's to rookie now some have him coming into the 20's.

And this is after the season so I wonder what has them changing their minds?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
