Leading Teams

Featured Replies

Thanks Biff. This one was done in Sydney.

"Labor in Power" i worked on for 2 years in Melbourne back in '93.

That was an amazing show to work on.

Cant believe you actually kept your clothes on long enough to shoot some footage.

The problem with the ABC is that when you do turn up you are all off your faces on drugs but usually you are plotting the downfall of society down the Pub on the poor old taxpayers dollar.

I know how it works.

I read Demonland.

BTW-of course it was shot in Sydney. "If you're not living in Sydney-you're camping out"

Can we hire leading teams for demonland.

That would make my frikken year.

Can you imagine hearing some of the criticism.

paul is definitely his own best fan (after TGR that is)

I'll allow that Keating may have done some good things, but he deprived use of the prime ministership of John Hewson. Unforgivable.

Hewson would liked to have had his cake AND eaten it... but he couldn't work out how to divide it up so he got the biggest piece.

No doubt it would make the No T$ No B$ thread seem tiny .... (and I don't think we would be imagining for long :))

Quality meds in St. K tonight....:)

Having read Ray Mcleans books and used some of the strategies myself, I can say that it is a fantastic program IMHO. but it is a very long term one - I was shattered when neeld got rid of it. bailey had it for 2 years and it was just starting to pay off.

there will be off days of course but its a great way of getting those home truths out in the open.

for example, everyone knows stuff about other people at their work, what their main problems are, if they are lazy or don't do x, or concentrate too much on y or whatever - but usually this stuff just gets said behind that persons back.

this is a way of telling that person their problems and then saying "we will help you improve"

I am glad you mentioned Ray McLean, as Roos often refers to him as the spark when they had a chance meeting at an airport 10 or so years ago.

Leading Teams leaves a sour taste in my mouth over the Akermanis bulldogs debacle. Here, the most boring sporting team in Australia, was trying to tell this guy to stop doing something remotely interesting like a frigging handstand after a game.

Was that LT philosophy? Or was that small-mindedness from Eade, Brad Johnson, and Smorgon?

I never understood why Footscray kept Acker in handcuffs. They had an identity that they refused to promote.

Very strange and stupid.

No wonder he became twisted and bitter....

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
