Old scarves

Hi guys,

My wife is going to make blankets for my boys out of old Melbourne scarves for Christmas. She's a very crafty woman. We have 10 already of our own but she needs another 20. Doesn't matter how old or new they are, as long as the condition is good

You can PM and I'll pay for delivery or I'll be at the forum game on Sunday.

Thanks

Good luck with that Ucan.

If you were asking for Melbourne scars then I am sure you would have a copious amount of offers

sorry to hijack your thread but has any one come across a 2010 scar with a vintage dancing demond badge stiched on...

any help would be great it wasnt mine left in the members section, yes i was drunk..

I'm keeping some of mine from the last few years because i plan on doing the same thing one day. Just need the wife and kids eventually! But good luck I hope you get them and would love to see the finished produce. Boys will love it (once the team gives them some reason to love them).

Brilliant idea, if you don't get enough directly, the club probably has excess runs of scarves every year which they'd be delighted to offer up to complete such a novel product.

Get in touch, it might even earn you a small story on the website. I'm completely serious.

I've been declining mine from the club for years to save them $s

Have then found them in the Salvo shops for 20 cents & have a great collection !

Try there I suggest

Celebrating or drowning sorrows??

I have also seen some from time to time in places like the $2 shop, reject shop etc etc

My wife has been doing this for the past 5 seasons. The blanket looks great and is as warm as you will find. Great at Sunday twilights when it's cold and wet, hope we can stop having to fill that slot in years to come. Best of luck.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
