Colin Garland - 100 Games

Featured Replies

Taken his game to a whole other level. Really proud to have Garlo wearing the red and blue.

Need to also remember that he suffered a serious foot injury, like Trengove, and it took him a good 18 months to get back to his best.

Let that be a lesson to all of you sh*tting on Trenners head right now.

Really reinforces that '80 game' theory that many afl analysts refer to. Prior to reaching that mark he was an OK footballer but has really come on in leaps and bounds since. I cannot wait until a chunk of our young midfield brigade get there - look out! Col exemplifies why we need to be patient with inexperienced players and not expect the world of them.

also reinforces the need to allow them time to grow in the VFL, without rushing them.

Well done Colin. Here is hoping for some periods success in the future at MFC to reward you for all of your hard work.

Reading his article this morning was great, he is really passionate about turning this club around, form has shot through the roof this year and i hope we seriously consider him as a potential captain in 2014.

From the interview on the mfc site :

"It's my time and Nathan Jones' time and James Frawley's time to really step up and be leaders of the club."

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
