Wouldnt want Clarkson anywhere near the club, he is and always has been a nasty piece of work.

I'd like Clarkson and I hope he brings Ratten as midfield coach. ;)

Clarkson struggles to keep it together at a succesful club like Hawthorn, imagine how he would behave while coaching a struggling club like Melbourne. Each to their own, we all know he can coach, personally i cant stand him.

I've said it before. I don't care who coaches us. Just win a bloody flag. I think Clarkson is our best chance.

I am afraid to say simply changing the coach will do little for MFC, besides giving its supports a short term satisfaction and making the team much more competitive.

I was prepared to have a couple of very unsuccessful season to all the MFC to achieve a Premiership! But wanted to see continual improvement in the on field performance. I was obviously sold a lemon by the powers to be at MFC with that one.

Teams will have their good years and bad, we all accept that! But MFC has had it fair share of bad, it’s time for someone else to have their turn with bad results (my vote is for Collingwood or Fremantle). Personally I will not accept any more continue on field failure by my club.

I don’t really care who the new coach is as long as the current Senior Coach is gone and the replacement is appropriately experienced with a realistic game plan (something out team can actually do without getting consistently flogged!). The person must have the ability to coach a premiership team now and not in five or ten years once they learn what coaching is all about. Oh nobody from Collingwood please, been there and done that (which has resulted in MFC becoming the joke of the AFL).

There needs to be a change at all levels within MFC or we will simple be talking about replacing the replacement coach in another 18 months’ time. I really want MFC to recruit a Senior Coach I can get fully support and respect. But more importantly I want to Senior Coach to have the resources he needs to win a Premiership within the next 3 to 5 years (Next year would be even better but nobody could expect that).

Sadly the truth is MFC would consider itself very lucky if it could win a Flag in the next 10 or 20 years, but I want to maintain the faith!

I find it hard to publicly criticise the Senior Coach of any football club I support but the loss last week to the Suns was the last straw for me. It’s better to kill the cancer quickly then to die a slow and painful death.

Melbourne FC Forever!

any off...

1- Paul Roos- BP & bank balance under control in media (ex Syd)

2- Alistair Clarkson - why leave a premiership constant ?? (Hawks)

3- Choco (Mark) Williams - angry man. Just what we want. No PC rubbish like Neeld (ex Port)

4- Brett Ratten - very unlucky to be shafted by the Blues. He has the pedigree. (ex Carl)

5- Gary Ayres - inspires. Has some unfinished business. Best coach outside AFL system..(ex Geel / Crows)

6- Rodney Eade - ready to go. Would be a huge get.(ex Syd, Dogs)

do NOT draft skinny kids.

do NOT take a punt on an inexperienced coach

Because inexperienced coaches don't win premierships. Well, except last year. And the year before. And not the year before, but for the 6 years before that. etc.

Just for the record Clarkson said on the couch tonight that he nor his management was never approached to coach the Dees when we appointed Neeld. Disappointing to say the least.

thanks for nothing Garry Lyon

I mean to say if MFC needs to do more then change the coach as this will ultimately achive a very short term outcome. As if only the coach is changed (he should go!) it will be like moving the seats in the Titanic, gives us something to do, but takes eyes of the real issues and will not substancially change the tradgic outcome. I personally want MFC to win Premierships, the more the better.

Does anyone seriously think the current leadership and football department at MFC will achieve this outcome within the next 10 to 20 years, if never?

The coach must go but so should other who are clearly struggling in their positions as a new coach will need to have the best chance to significantly improve the teams performance. The members and supporters of MFC then need to unite under the new coach as the continual change and criticism of its coaches will ultimately only achieve another 50 years in the obyss (No Premiership).

Hard to see how changing a coach is going to help us if one of our problems is continually changing coaches.

Good point but the current MFC Senior Coach is something very special.

By keeping him the MFC is guaranteed of one things, continued MASSIVE LOSSES both on and off the field.

He got to go and a independent selection committee (people with actual recruitment skills) need to get the best replacement they can. There is no time to waste as I just heard a story of a 11 year old supporter has just changed teams to Richmond! As he believe MFC don't even try to win. It hard to blame the young guy as I have similar feelings this year.

It does appear there is a culture that lossing is acceptable and that the Football Department believe lossing today will somehow mean MFC will win tomorrow. Someone needs to point out to the Football Department that once lossing is acceptable it like a virus, that attitude is very hard to get rid of. Also it hard to keep good player when the team is not successful.

Who cares if Mark is a nice guy or not, surely MFC is paying him a large salary to be successful and he is far from achieving that!

At the end of the day it all about have a successful football team and MFC has not had one of those since 1964! I for one want to see many successful MFC teams. But all team supporters will be saying the same thing and at the end of the day only one team can win the flag.

Feel better now you have regurgitated that, I can give you a story of a few kids who have re signed as members as well

You must be very confused if you think the Footy Dept (and the players) accepts losses

Mark Neeld is one of the lowest paid senior coaches, we don't have the money

Do you mean successful now, or are you willing to wait, only been eightteen months, which bit of starting again don't you get, or where you one of the posters happy with the squad we had of underachievers who are no longer at the Club

Most of our 'good' players have re signed, surprised?

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin
