Will Malthouse be sacked ?

Featured Replies

When Carlton lose to Geelong this week and then to West Coast at Subiaco the week after, will the Carlton board consider sacking him after 4 straight losses ?

I don't think so !

So for all you doomsday keyboard critics, hold tight as nothing can be gained from sacking a coach after 2 games.

Malthouse was bought by Carlton to do a particular job, as was Neeld at Melbourne. So let's see what can be done by actually backing him in to do what he needs to do.

- it's alway darkest just before the dawn !

Was waiting for this.

...but don't you think he might have a few credits in the bank. Some pressure will come if they don't make the 8 this year though.

Poor analogy - not nearly the same thing. I count more than 2 games for starters...

I don't blame Neeld for being in the position he is in but it is what it is.

carlton have intensity and are fighting for a cause... Melbourne lack intensity and have no idea what they are standing for... ones united, ones not.

If their losses had been big ones to GWS and Melbourne then yes.

Hopefully Malthouse turns out to be another false prophet like Dennis Pagan.

  • PREVIEW: Brisbane

They really had me fooled when I picked them with great confidence to beat the Bombers at Gather Round last week. I should have recognised that nothing is more quintessentially Melbourne than defeating the undefeated early premiership favourite one week and losing to a winless cellar dweller on its way to establishing a record losing streak the next.
