Season Review from the Players

Featured Replies

My favourite part was seeing the look on Mitch's face when we had obviously lost, but he didnt even play (ws injured). He was hurting.

Rawlings and whoever else was behind the Clark coup should take a bow. The guy can play, but seems to be a natural leader and a passionate club man - i havent seen that type of passion from a 1st year recruit EVER

Can't start a new thread on phone guys but just giving you the heads up Brett Lovett has just quit as Casey coach, family & work reasons.

Not good if true, he clearly is an extremely good VFL coach.

Maybe he can teach that to Col Sylvia.

Jack Watts saying losing all the time is not much fun for all of us.

I really didn't see a lot of feeling in that.

I want to see anger when he says it. Not a smile on his face.

I see the MFC web site has an new interview with Jimmy Magner on it. I guess he'll keep his spot in 2012

Jack moves on from losing pretty quickly.

I'm sorry, at what point in the video did you see Jones wiping tears away from his eyes? I must have missed that part.

Did I miss something Billy?

What has tears anything to do with anger?

We cant just point at Bailey.....its handy to do so, but we just didnt spend enough money on the football department when he was around. Whether through necessity or stupidity we'll never know now..but we didnt have enough experience in our fitness coaching ranks and Its bitten us on the arse big time. We fell, what looks now like a massive step behind, so lets hope with the increase of experience and personnel we've turned it around.

That is very true, Bailey walked into a bucket case. I still feel he was used as a carry over couch just being used for getting us in the right position for draft pick.

He was never going to stay around.

That was the most Raw i have ever seen the Demons....I liked it.

The players are as disgusted in 2012 as i am.

Great....Mitch Clark hates being injured.

That's a fairly decent frown he has on him...

What does anger have to do with losing? Have a look after next Saturday's game, see how many tears are shed on the losing team as opposed to how many of those players are walking around punching holes in walls.

The players should hurt after every loss. If it happens frequently, we're the ones that should be angry. But if you're going to bash Watts for not showing "anger" on a post season video talking about how crap our season was, then you my friend, are one sad individual. I don't like using this line, and it sh!ts me when others use it, but here goes, "it's supporters like you that this Club could do without".

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.
