Barrack for Essendon or Carlton?

Second year in a row they have imploded

yeah! and we imploded before the season started.

Has a team ever fallen in a bigger heap than this? I mean, early form means nada, but they were flying. Injuries and losses and season over... oh my heart bleeds for them.

Was always bound to happen.

My essendon mates were high fiving while I sat back and bided my time, knowing that they had a "soft" run in the 1st half, and a much tougher run in the 2nd.

Just so happy to see it come to fruition!

Do you get some sort of sick pleasure from making sad and boring comments like that?

I just don't understand the thought process.

What's the point?

How could any true blue demon cheer on Essendon ever for anything?

Yep. I was there in 2000. Got there at 1 am. Bastards ruined my day!

Reakon we have, during Danihers rein, at least twice.

It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling!

The paper said 1971 - Melbourne was the last time a team F'd up so badly after a flying start - must admit that depressed me before I went and had a look at Bomberblitz

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
