Has a team ever fallen in a bigger heap than this? I mean, early form means nada, but they were flying. Injuries and losses and season over... oh my heart bleeds for them.

Was always bound to happen.

My essendon mates were high fiving while I sat back and bided my time, knowing that they had a "soft" run in the 1st half, and a much tougher run in the 2nd.

Just so happy to see it come to fruition!

The paper said 1971 - Melbourne was the last time a team F'd up so badly after a flying start - must admit that depressed me before I went and had a look at Bomberblitz
