Standing up for his skipper (Grimes) who got unnecessarily belted. Great leadership Jonsey .... we need to see more of this sort of thing at Melbourne.

Ward was trying to get a few 'cheapies' in all day and has a growing reputation for it around the AFL too and I reckon Jones had just had enough of it. Good on Jones too. I wish more of our players would stand up to the opposition.

On a positive note, I think it was Clark/Magner who got injured and Ward also ignored play to see if they were ok and call for our trainers.

Ward is doing a great job for his club and has been all year.

'Cheapies' - in every way - are Sheedy's bread & butter. Not surprising that he's forced the more effective of his captains to play the Sheedy way.

Ward is quite clever giving someone attention when the opportunity presents itself.

Watching the replay last night (recorded game) I played it over and over and Ward set himself for Grimes, but did it legally. Jones fuse at that instance was short enough to stick up for his skipper. I'm pleased he flew the flag.

Commetti couldn't work out what started it...he's losing it and his form is fluctuating like a cork in the ocean.

It was a good win.

It baffles me why Sheedy did not play Cornes and had Power as the sub he was saying it was to do with resting them because they were playing a top 4 side in Sydney next round. Its not like they were on the cusp of the eight and taking down a top 4 side would elevate them to contention. I reckon Sheedy was buoyed by there last few rounds and and how they took it up to the Tigers last week and became over confident. Oh well glad the boys gave them a good flogging and maintained pressure for most of the game.

Does it seem that way does it? Probably only to you Ned.

You said that you would not have been distressed had we lost that game - saying that I find that amusing is the most polite thing I could say.

(And ease up on the personal stuff, you'll get into bad habits.)

No, I said I would have been distressed if we lost or it was an arm-wrestle. I'm a Melbourne supporter for goodness sake.

I'll be as personal as I like mate when a person misquotes me and then gives me a hard time based on their inability to read and comprehend what I wrote. I owe you no apologies.

I am sorry, I misread your second 'amusing' post as you would not have been distressed had we lost.

Sheedy did hint after the game that there was some focus on for the next round against Sydney. Must admit I was a bit surprised they didn't play Cornes.

Did anyone notice that Scully is out of team this weekend - reason quoted: groin injury. Wonder if this is Sheedy speak for 'dodgy knee'...remember the Essendon flu!

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
