Neeld didn't put US in the position we were already in.   We were just in a downward spiral,  and he was a mere puppet in the scheme of it all.

So stop kicking someone who just wasn't up to it,  as you say.   He didn't hire himself.  Simply tried to make a difference.

So how can people hate someone so much,  for trying.?

#  I think he must be wearing 50Yrs of Pain,  from Mfc supporters.

Hating isn't going to make us winners.    only Honesty can do that.

Oh dear. These rants could go on and on....

Neeld did not play at the top level,   like Jordan,  so he was always struggling for the respect required, not just by the playing list,  but by many "Melbourne people",  close to and around the club.

Neeld played 74 AFL games, for Geelong and Richmond, successful clubs. Jordan played VFL, coburg. WTF are you talking about?

I know Slug played VFL.   Not top level football.

Neeld was not considered worthy as a coach,  by the players and others around the club.   At the time he started.  I mucked up Re Neelds AFL games.

Years Club Games (Goals)
1990–1993 Geelong

48 (17)

1994–1996 Richmond 26 (16)
Total

74 (33)

But the point remains.  He was not considered worthy to be our AFL coach by most around the club.    And especially when he tried do bring down instant discipline on the players.

It was easy for the players to Buck-Up and rebel against him,  because so many former Melbourne people and others about the club,  were talking behind his back, undermining him even before the Pre-Season.

These are not the signs of a healthy culture,  and they had started years prior.  This point in time was a tipping point in our history,  where things were at the end of the road,  and could not be let go on any longer.

That's where the AFL put their boots down, and took over.

They brought the footy people to us, to get us back up on our feet.  We haven't done it,  they're people did it, and left.

Now we have to get things right ourselves.  From our board level.

Its time to get that home base happening.

Is it my imagination, or was Neeld given the flick seven long years ago? And not last week?

exactly.

But people will not let him go, in peace.  Choosing instead to relive their pain,  and their hate toward him,  in text.

For the fairest of clubs,  its really unfair on someone who cannot defend themselves of the constant denigration.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
