Garland is a very good observer and reads the play quite well. He always seems to be on the lookout onfield for not only his opponent but identifying any opposition getting to dangerous positions down back. He'll back himself to be first to the pill by leaving his man when warranted and help out a teammate to provide an optional outlet by linking up. Astute observer and a quiet achiever.

    What an amazing coaching move - Watts back and Garland forward. Garland can mark, get good body position - just needs to work on the set shots.

    Great move! He's started to look a little stale down back this year. Seemed to have a lot more energy & looked to be enjoying his footy.

    It helps when you've learnt your trade down back and then go forward. He put pressure on their defence all night and PLAYED IN FRONT. Certainly needs to work on his kicking, but unlucky not to have that last mark.
