Thought the four key backs including Riv tried hard all day against an oversized West Coast forward structure. Not easy with the amount of easy midfield turnovers. Blease and Howe were fantastic another two great young kids to add to the list of many.

6 Frawley (did not go off for the entire game btw)

5 Howe

4 Garland

3 Jones

2 Trengove

1 Jamar (beat Cox all day - not to be underestimated)

Anyone that gives Jones votes is kidding themselves. Cost us at least 4 goals to West Coast with turn overs and 2 goals to us by missing easy targets. Yes people will say he gives his all but if we continue to accept medocrity in disposal like him and Bartram then we will get nowhere.

At least he gives a stuff. Can't say the same for about half our list at the moment.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
