DemonDave 1,099 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 From the clubs webpage: Injuries Round 15 MELBOURNE defenders Joel Macdonald and Luke Tapscott will face fitness tests in the lead-up to round 15. Although coach Dean Bailey indicated on Monday that Macdonald was a reasonable chance to play against the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium on Friday night, he said Tapscott was more likely to play for Casey if available. Forward/midfielder Neville Jetta (hand) remains two matches away, while vice-captain Aaron Davey (knee) is still 2-3 weeks from resuming. Dasher Rohan Bail (knee) will be sidelined for a further 3-4 weeks, while tall Michael Newton (foot) is out for another four matches. Youngster Jack Fitzpatrick (ankle) is 2-3 weeks from returning. Leader Jack Grimes (foot) and ruckman Jake Spencer (knee) are out for the rest of 2011. Round 15 injury list (ordered by resuming date) Joel Macdonald (knee) - test Luke Tapscott (hamstring) - test Neville Jetta (hand) - 2 weeks Aaron Davey (knee) - 2-3 weeks Jack Fitzpatrick (ankle) - 2-3 weeks Rohan Bail (knee) - 3-4 weeks Michael Newton (foot) - 4 weeks Jack Grimes (foot) - season Jake Spencer (knee) - season
DEELIRIOUS 156 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Disappointing to see Bail go backwards a few weeks. My mate was chatting with him before the game in the race or something and Bail said that he had a major scare during the week so maybe that has something to do with it. Disappointing news really. I imagine that if JMac can't play Sam Blease will be unveiled on Thursday arvo to the press.
Disco Demons 92 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Joel Macdonald- would be a big loss if he couldn't come up in the 6 day turn-around. Has been playing some very good football
Striker475 696 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Unrelated note: Beamer now back as part of the players shown on the MFC page rather than fading out
mordja 187 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Agreed, If Tapscott cant play, MacDonald becomes important. Some really courageous marks back with the flight and seems to be clunking a few more in general.
alpha33 327 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 The Herald Sun list: MELBOURNE INJURED: Colin Garland (ankle) test Mark Jamar (knee) test Rohan Bail (knee) 1 week Neville Jetta (hand) 1 week Aaron Davey (knee) 3 weeks Michael Newton (foot) 3 weeks Jack Fitzpatrick (ankle) 3-5 weeks Jack Grimes (foot) season Jake Spencer (knee) season Joel Macdonald (sore knee) TBA ON THE BLOCK: Jamie Bennell was only fair against the Tigers. ON THE CUSP: Sam Blease, Matthew Bate. With Casey not playing these two didn’t get their chance to impress but Blease will come in soon. JON ANDERSON'S FORECAST: Suddenly they have genuine depth with Mark Jamar and Jordie McKenzie back from injury. With Jamar back it means they have an exciting ruck duo with he and Stefan Martin. How long since that was the case at Demonland? Twenty years ago with Jim Stynes and Steve O’Dwyer.
Jaded No More 68,976 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 The Herald Sun list: MELBOURNE INJURED: Colin Garland (ankle) test Again, or did someone forget to update last week's list?
alpha33 327 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Could well be Jaded. They've also forgotten Austin Wonaeamirri out indefinitely on compassionate grounds.
titan_uranus 25,264 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Don't like seeing players go backwards on the injury list. Must have had a complication or something. Boo. The six day break isn't going to help MacDonald much.

What about White and Stynes, White and Simmonds?
DemonDave 1,099 Posted June 28, 2011 Author Posted June 28, 2011 What about White and Stynes, White and Simmonds? White and Jolly were pretty handy for a while too werent they?
DemonDave 1,099 Posted June 28, 2011 Author Posted June 28, 2011 That Herald Sun list is all over the shop. Still has Garland and Jamar on it. Another thread on here reckons Bennell played his best game for the club, so the subs on this article have clearly not seen the game but merely looked at the stats page for a scapegoat.
