Wrong again.

PSD picks are not tradeable.

Any more?

Nah that's it.

OMG ... thats a massive shift. Now you want to talk about probabilities combined with some of the possibilities. Thats a whole new thread my friend.

I've said something similar before & I will say it again. Sorry we must all just wait and see how the season unfolds. B)

I'm here to discuss what the reasons are he may elect to choose that route ... and I will say it again. You only have to look at the views of some of the so called "supporters" of the MFC in this forum & not necessarily exclusively on the topic of Tom Scully. Again thats not a criticism of the forum that values free speech.

Hutchy got it wrong, he only got half the story. I merely pointed that out. If you want to shoot the messenger fine by me ...

I will let people think what they want to think, I'm not here to change that.

hahahahahaha [censored] poor effort.

No massive shift - I want to talk possibilities so I can prove to you how it cannot happen.

You don't seem to have considered the implications of what you're saying.

And now, you're ducking and weaving some more, talking in riddles.

Nice try.

I just don't see how Richmond could get him, without our compliance, even if he desperately wants to go there.

There's not another option where it could work for him to get to Richmond in 2012.

Honestly, I am open to suggestions, and if someone can come up with a solution that would work, I'll be very impressed.

So you don't want to talk about how he will get there, and you have given no reasons why he wants to go there, and you don't seem to have any other information about the move. I thought all made up rumours would be deleted in this thread??

I cant believe I just read all of that, I need to get an appointment with a shrink.

Can we all take a few pills and relax?

I look forward to the game tomorrow.

BTW Scully is one hundred per cent professional, some might say too much so for his own good (witness his knee from over training) but I think that means we will see him giving his all for the MFC.

As for the future well we will find that out in due course.

I'm done. I thought GWS could on trade Scully to Richmond or use their preseason pick.

You're not a messenger.

This is all hypothetical BS.

You are embarrasing yourself - and you still have not outlined how you think Tom gets to the Tigers.

Sure, it could happen but the possibility of it occuring is low and the probability lower.

It's like this: the majority of Demonland could think of HO007 as a rational poster.

Sure, it could happen but...

So give Land your hypothesis on how Tom gets to Richmond and we can all soak in the insightfully complex machinations...

There are 3 ways, to my knowledge - if there are others, please let me know how.

1. MELBOURNE trades SCULLY to RICHMOND (either in a direct trade or a 3-team or 4-team deal).

2. SCULLY enters the NATIONAL DRAFT and GWS and other teams inexplicably don't draft him before RICHMOND get their first pick.

3. SCULLY enters the PRESEASON DRAFT and GWS and other teams inexplicably don't draft him before RICHMOND get their first pick.

That's correct and in points 2 & 3 a player who nominates for either draft and "nominates football payments" i.e. a compulsory contract amount, has to do so for "a minumum of two years". Therefore the player would be going to the club that picked him up for TWO YEARS and to get past GWS the player would have to nominate a contract amount over two years that GWS couldn't afford but Richmond could. Going into the draft isn't going to get him to Richmond - it's going to get him to GWS (or the Suns or Port Adelaide or all the clubs which have a pick before Richmond) for 2 years.

It's a destructive fantasy.

I have given 1 of the reasons ... I only point out that Hutchy got it wrong, he only got half the story right. However, think the penny is also dropping for the offline media.

Care to be more specific?

You're so vague you could be talking about the situation in Iraq.

No crazy credits for you I'm afraid.

This was started many months ago in the dark, deep recesses of HO007's brain...

It's ironic that you think the speculation of Demonland members is destructive, and may give reason for Scully to leave, when your posts are fuelling the fire.

Anyhow.

OK so I'm either really dumb, or you make no sense.

Please tell me firstly what is this Hutchy story you keep talking about, then please explain in specific details what half he got wrong, and what is the right info that you have which makes you think he will possibly go to Richmond?

Either outline these things or go away.

You didn't even see my rhetorical flourish?!

Anything is possible. Even posters taking you seriously... Didn't quite get there, I see.

My stuff is wasted on here sometimes.

I guess I could go over to BF like Hannabal but that would be shooting in an even less populated barrel of fish...

And the reason you haven't posited your hypothesis on how Tom gets to the Tigers is because you obviouly realise that it is such a remote possibility that discussing it in depth would make you look foolish.

How to play the flute:

For Tom to get to Richmond would require the Tigers trade for GWS No#1 pick (if they are allowed) and Tom nominated to go into the Draft. Tom would then be the No#1 draft pick x 2 which would be funny, and the tigers would be minus Martin or Cotchin or Riewoldt and looking like a pack of idiots...

Tom will stay and play for the Demons. :o

You read but you dont want to listen. No problems.

I've say it again one last time. This story originate from "idle" speculation from Hutchy that TS was going to GWS.

I said that was not true, based on Hutchy bitter and twisted beliefs. He only got half the story right.

Tom actually comes out and states ... "I have never spoke to GWS & signed nothing" ...

I merely pointed out back in November our number 1 threat was melbourne based club ....

Now the media is jumping onboard. .... mmmm!!!

But I wont, sorry to upset you (frustrate you), discuss anything else. 100% constant with what I said back then. Just like Tom is asking you to wait and see. I hear the frustration but such is life.

However, I will stress I hope Tom stays. But I would never be arrogant enough to scream its us or GWS ... leave for the money then.

Sorry I have faith in Tom.

On 24/06/2011 at 04:53, why you little said:

Alan will be over in Moscow showing us how to reconcile the Russians and the Chinese. So, until next week, cheerio.

If that's the case then please drop this line of discussion, because it's even more circular than the general Scully back and forth. Thanks.

Martin Cotchin Riewoldt ... are all contracted & going no where. All are contracted out of the reach of GWS involvement.

Well, if HO007 thinks it irrelevant and the mods agree...

Let's do this dance again and start a new Scully thread.

Scully thread mach #4!!

Engage.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
