It's not often that the Casey Reserves make the news but this week, they're the talk of the town! Fevola picked for Casey Scorpions' reserves Troubled former AFL star Brendan Fevola finally finds a home with VFL club Casey Scorpions for 2011

Good to see Davis and Howe back in the Magoos.

I am really hoping Addam Maric bounces back with a BOG

Nice alsoe see Valenti running around at port. I would love to hear how he been travelling. I still have a soft spot for the little man.

Would love to actually see fev line up on a half back flank...

Probably won't happen but why don't you get down to TEAC Oval tomorrow at 11am to find out?

casey are going to be tough to beat this week, thats a strong line up for a VFL side

We have 4 tall forwards playing at Casey, and who'll be playing at Casey most of the year: Newton, Cook, Howe and Fitzpatrick.

Anyone else disappointed that one of the 2 available key positions will be taken up by a gambling addicted alcoholic who is no chance of playing afl ever again?

Haven't had a chance to check out Scorps this year, how is young Lawrence doing? He looks likely type.

MFC Player Resource Manager Craig Lees on Twitter:-

Get out to TEAC oval tomorrow to support Casey and the boys playing. 4 MFC players in the reserves @ 11am and 15 in the seniors @ 2pm.

The four reserves players will be -

Troy Davis

Jack Fitzpatrick

Jeremy Howe

Tom McNamara

The 15 seniors are -

Matthew Bate

Sam Blease

Lucas Cook

Michael Evans

Max Gawn

Neville Jetta

Kelvin Lawrence

Joel Macdonald

Tom McDonald

Addam Maric

Michael Newton

Ricky Petterd

Dan Nicholson

Jake Spencer

James Strauss

That's 19 Demons plus that bloke from Brisbane on display on the one ground and on the one day.

I've arrived at TEAC Oval and we're in the third quarter. Tommy McNamara has just passed beautifully to a slightly portly Brendan Fevola at full forward and he's slotted it through from 50 out.

Not that this has done the Scorps ressies much good - they trail 5.7.37 to 12.6.78.

Nice snap for a goal from Jack Fitzpatrick which earned a high 5 from Fev. Tommy Mac is playing well.

The siren goes and Port leads 15.7.97 to Casey 7.8.50.

Fev Maybe a X%&$ Off the field but an old coach once said to me you can learn leasons from any walk of life as long as you use the best of those leasons Fev can teach our young forwards how to play good footy all I want to say is boys Be a sponge learn as much as you can Deewakka

And right on cue, Fev accepts a pass from Jack Fitzpatrick and boots a goal.

I don't believe Troy Davis is out there. Haven't seen him at all.

Game about to start. Ricky Petterd is playing, as are Neville Jetta and Addam Maric.

Are the other Demon emergencies out there KC?

First goal to Port after a 50m penalty was paid against Matt Fieldsend who intercepted when the ball was being returned for a Port free kick.

Juice has just replied.

Teams lining up an I can't see Matthew Warnock out there.

that sounds to me like there is a doubt on Garland

First two goals Newton and Pettard. Joel mcd dominantly early off half back. Mostly scorps forwards playing like their seniors - missing target with very little systems and not chasing out of Attack

Port are a well drilled side and are making the most of their opportunities with the breeze. Casey's turnovers have been costly.

Quarter Time

Casey Scorpions 2.2.14

Port Melbourne 6.3.39

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
