Travelling to Interstate Games in 2011

I am wondering who else out there is planning to travel to one or more of Melbourne's interstate games this season? Me and a few mates made our first interstate trip to the Round 21 game against Port last year, and loved it. We have already booked a few trips for this year. We will be heading to the Gabba in April for the game against the Gold Coast, and also making the trek to Darwin for the game against Port.

Did anyone go to the game in Darwin last year? I had a friend go to the Bulldogs game up there and said the atmosphere was fantastic, due to the fact they are so starved of AFL up there - they love every moment of it!

Also, does anyone know if you can organise tickets through the club to away games to sit in a Dees supporter area or anything like that? Would prefer not to just book through ticketmaster as could end up sitting anywhere...

i'm based in WA, so apart from the game at Subi against West Coast i'll be heading across to see some games at the G to make the most of the entry to 5 home games

I went to Darwin last year, and I highly recommend it. It was close to the best football experience I have ever had (up there with watching training before the 88 GF). The atmosphere was awesome. The ground is great to watch football at, and Darwin is a fantastic town.

Thanks Scooter, I will check it out. Can't wait for the trip to Brissie but I kind of wish we were playing at the new stadium on the Gold Coast.

And Thomo that's what I've heard, I havent been to Darwin in years but looking to make the most of it by going up on the train through Alice Springs!!!

Couldn't agree more. Darwin was the best and I'll be heading back this year again.

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.
