Then the HUN and its ever vigilant reporters ran with the now proven fact that it was a fait accompli and that he would be heading up north at the end of the season on this incredible contract.

I actually read somewhere yesterday in the HUN that there was so much talk about it it must have some credence, another brilliant piece of reporting in that rag.

So there you have it no facts no substantiation just pure speculation and a lot of hot air and hope from other jealous opposition supporters. I'm not saying that he won't be offered a contract but how in God's name would a North official know anything about it? How would he get this information and from what source was it derived?

GWS will be after a player from every club so all those on here that are saying Melbourne will get their just deserts, remember, they will be coming after you too. Don't expect any sympathy from us when they do.

Funny because I was that poster. I hope I haven't started this sh^t fight because here is the timeline which looks interesting...

1/ I found out the rumour Xmas eve.

2/ Spoke to Scully about the rumour Boxing Day... had a laugh as he hasn't discussed his contract with anyone. (the rumour was he had signed)

3/ After the rumour hasn't come out for a month thought it was sh^t and a mate pulling our leg... hence posted on the 26th of Jan in reply to someone concerned on the Melbourne Board about GWS and mention this rumour as an example of crap we will here over the course of this season especially as Scully won't discuss his contract until the end of the year which was planned since May Last year.

4/ Rumoured as fact on AW on the 1st of Feb

5/ reported in the Herald Sun 3rd of Feb httphttp://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/af...-1225999109227

6/ Jon Ralph joins the debate http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/af...-1225999851531

7/ effects the AGM and Mark Steven http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/af...-1226000621248

Overall it looks a simple post stating the sh^t rumours you will hear can effect mainstream media... that and Mark Stevens definitely uses Bigfooty as a source

Sorry if I started this sh^tfight because timeline looks like I may have...

LOL... It was the guy who rang up AW but I wonder where they saw it....

If you want I'll write it, you ring AW and we boom we can screw the filth.

GWS will be after a player from every club so all those on here that are saying Melbourne will get their just deserts, remember, they will be coming after you too. Don't expect any sympathy from us when they do.

I'm puzzled as to how anyone could be saying that about Melbourne. After all, there are at least half a dozen other clubs out there who have benefited heavily from the draft and could be said to have tanked to gain those benefits in recent times. Hell, two of them played off in the GF last year. We don't even have the most no. 1 picks. That dubious honour goes to Carlton. I think whinging from opposition supporters is a touch sad to be honest.

Here is a post from Bigfooty I just made:

-snip- (tl;dr)

Scott Pendlebury's signed a 5-year deal for $7 million, yeah?

when does dane swan come out of contract?

End of the season.

Interesting to see you are a little more contrite here that you've been on Big Footy, there was no apology there just an attempt to justify our original post.

Copy of you original post.

Scully's management team stated at the start of last year that he won't be resigning until the end of this year, as his value with 43 games is considerable more....

So don't expect any announcements and plenty of rumors... MFC put a lot of pressure on his management last year to resign but they refused not a GWS thing but better value for their client....

The latest rumor I heard for from an ex north melbourne employee that usually has some good mail was Tom signed 6 mil for six years... I spoke to tom about it and he laugh as he has even discuss contracts with his manager and just wants to play football this season, this biggest thing for him is to play on the ball as he was frustrated that he was made to play the wing and even though scott west wanted him in the middle bailey overrulled.

So it appears, if you are to be believed, that Tom broke club confidence by telling you he was unhappy where he was playing. It also appears, if it's true, you have broken his confidence by telling everyone else.

So, I don't get it... what is the point of posting all this stuff?! Pats on the back for a successful rumour?

Can we PLEASE sweep this all under the rug til end of season and just focus on supporting Scully as he is currently a Melbourne player and while we have improved in the area, one thing that would be great to see from us supporters is actual support.

I would love nothing more than a united stand from us at 'Land to not make this whole thing a "sh^tfight".

if you want to come on here asking why I posted it and not take the explanation for what it is then I will continue to defend it.... We will go around and around in circles with me calling you a [censored]...

Have a read of the other post why I said what I said, I'm lucky to have discussed these matters with the person one on one and think some of the people on here would like to know what Tom thinks about it. If you think I broke Tom's confidence then good on you... If you didn't know Tom was being played on the outside and wants to play in the guts then I may have to upgrade the [deleted] to something else

Don't bother Robbie. Suggest you have a read of the Breaking Demonland News thread wolf.

Looks like the Point 7 link isn't working, although I may have read the article anyway. Is that the one where Mark Stevens said the Melbourne fan leapt out of his seat and said he'd pay half his pay to keep Scully ? It must have been a good jump....from my memory, the guy that said that, rode up to the microphone on a motorised people mover/wheelchair. Never let the truth get in the way of soem extra dramatisation.

Ox I have read the breaking news thread and agree with its contents...

I just don't agree with a poster bringing an argue from another site to here and then doing the 'do you have the balls to call me a [deleted] here'...

Then the poster goes back on bigfooty and calls me a liar???? What because the mods on bigfooty don't ban people he wants to bring an argument here to make the mods here have to do something.

Sorry I have postered here long enough for people to know if I make sh^t up or not and don't need some %^$^%$%^$% to say differently. I only post this stuff to let others know what maybe occurring and reason for such things, not to big note or make up crap.

Some of us have the opportunity to meet people in the FD who give us general information, i would rather share that information with the site as I have not always had such a luxury and was always thankful to those on this site who pass anything on. maybe I am in the minority???

You brought this across trying to big note yourself and brag about the rubbish you posted on Big Footy. Name your source at North, you don't seem to have any qualms about breaking confidentially so who was it. Or was this just sh^t and your feeble way of making yourself relevant?

As a club we don't need dirtbags starting rumors about players at the club and we certainly don't need club supportrrs doing it. If it makes you feel important then as someone above said save your unsubstantiated rubbish for other club's players.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
