DRAFTIN' TIME!

I've seen Howe in the flesh.

Really surprised to see him picked up at 33. I would have thought he would still be there at 50. No unhappy that we got him, just that we took him early.

He's got a bit of Tony Mondra about him.

Perhaps it's who we really wanted so we took him?

We don't need to take risks on mediocre midfielders. We have plenty of good ones in the bag, with Jack Viney to come.

Pick 50 is Troy Davis...

Pick 53...

Lightning quick defensive tall? 90 kgs, not too bad.

Who is Troy davis?? Looks like we got trumped with cam o'shea

Taking their sweet time...

53 Melb...

Deep thought from our lot. Were they hoping for O'Shea?

Last live pick for us, I guess we want to get it right.

T McDonald

Tom McDonald.

3 forwards! You beauty!

ANOTHER ONE!!

All talls?!!! His writeup says he is "committed." Nothing on skills...

:(

So we're done for today.

On paper looks like we've filled some of our biggest gaps, which is fantastic. If these guys turn out to be good enough to play in a premiership side, than BBBP is a genius.

Tall forward in Cook

Leaping 190cm forward in Howe

Tall defender in Davis

Tall forward in McDonald

am seeing a pattern here..

Definitely had our sites on O'Shea.

Got to love Draft day. It's the AFL version of Christmas. Everyone's a winner.

Anybody else getting the names on-screen before the audio?

Yeah me. They must type in the numbers on a screen that hit the pc's before they read em out or something like that!

Seems very much like the Dunn, Newton, Bate draft.

Let's hope it's better. Not that these kids have to do much to surpass Newton's achievements thus far.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
