Remember when we drafted Luke Ottens, on the strength of the fact he was then-Tiger Brad's brother, and thus he may improve? Dont always be fooled by the surname and its magical powers!

To be fair to Luke Ottens, he was cruelled by persistent back injuries but was a raw talent and could have been a very good player for the club had his body held up. Was a strong mark, more mobile than Brad was, and had good vertical leap. Injuries forced him to retire from footy altogether by i think age 22-23. Never got a chance to get up and going.

Someone like Damien Gaspar brother of Sydney/Richmond's Darren, who was a very good young player at the time, is a better example.

Other names i can recall just off the top of my head of hack bros who got drafted on the back of their more talented brothers names include Donald and David Cockatoo-Collins (brother Che), Cameron Croad (drafted by Carlton, delisted after 1 season?) though i'm sure there are hundreds of cases.

I won't sleep tonight after reading that name.

Forget the Omen, it's THAT^ Damien that gives me nightmares.

Played with Ben (1 game) and against Dan Nicholson this year. Was actually opposed to him at various times throughout the game.

Nicholsons a good player - quick, skillful, glides across the turf. Wouldnt surprise me if he was rookie listed somewhere

I've seen BennytheJet play. Reckon you might have given Nicholson a run for his money.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we draft Damien the year before Darren was drafted? Although I do think that Darren debuted first with the Swans.

Speculative pick at best, but I think but it's more amazing that he was on the list for 5 years! Just shows how bad off we were for talls in the mid '90s.

This about Ben Jakobi off the SMS from Pringle who was on Coburg's staff for the past couple of seasons:-

Also - 19 years old, came from Brighton Grammar and is the son of Old Brighton President Rob Jakobi so the connection is there with Jack Watts and newly appointed Demon Board Member John Trotter who has been involved with Old Brighton Grammarians AFC since 1971.

Interesting Jakobi has gone back to the Tigers as of todays permission to train list ... :)

Interesting addition on North List - Jake Von Bertouch (Woodville West Torrens)
