I like the Chargers again this week... No idea why but over the last week I've taken a liking to them, wouldn't be suprised to see them win the AFC

I like the eagles down the field vs the saints, I think if Foles gets good pocket time he could shred the saints secondary.

Also like the colts. Be interested in seeing Pmah on the big stage.

If Dallas and Eagles win, Texas may be sucked into the earth next weekend.

KC way too good ... smashed the Colts in yards gained especially in the first half.  But the surprise was the KC defence - superb.  The stats were padded-out in the 2nd half but the Colts were never in it.

All that without a Mahomes TD pass so the upside is there as well.  At home again next week vs Pats or Chargers.

Not exactly home field advantage for the Rams with so many Cowboy fans in the building ... it's more like a neutral field.  Dallas 7 Rams 3 after that Amari Cooper TD.

Edit:  And just like that the Rams go out to a 20 - 7 lead with 2 minutes to go in the first half.  Dallas with the ball.  The Cowboys don't seem to have an answer to the Rams running game - a massive 162 yards already with Anderson & Gurley dominating.

Rams win in impressive style with a supreme running game being the standout feature ... either at home to the Eagles next week or at the Saints.

Either way,  the Rams have got their game going again - they're going to be hard to stop.

Hard luck there @Dappa Dan  ... only radio my end but it sounded like the Eagles put in a mighty effort.  The Saints covered Tate very well who seemed to be Foles' go-to man (more so late in the game?)

Stopped your run as well but you still could have won the game with an extra completion or 2.  But at New Orleans is always difficult and the home crowd noise via the radio coverage was deafening.  Going up 14 - 0 had no effect on the 12th man.

It will be the same next week for the Rams who will also need to find a way to quell Rivers,  Kamara,  Ingram & Thomas.

2 points on offer for each winner next week

n.b. A total of 5 points available for the SB winner with 2 of those points acting as bonus points if your winning team's score falls within 3 points of the actual winners score.

So there is a total of 9 potential available points for the last 3 games of the playoffs.

Im hoping we have a good plan for that but also that they struggle with our 1-2 running crew!

Getting on plane soon to head home,  so first thing tomorrow morning I’m watching the game.

See they held zeke pretty well, which makes me happy.

Yeah, was moreso Alshon and Ertz on that last drive. Really did feel like it was inevitable after the roughing the passer penalty. Seemed the gods wanted Foles to keep going.

I think Rams play KC in superbowl, but i'll have a closer look.

Yeah,  I was hearing Foles to Tate a fair bit but must have been on the earlier drives.  Speaking of drives,  good teams seem able to have long drives as part of who they are.

The Saints being no exception with that 90+ yard,  18 play drive that seemed to go on forever ... proved the difference as the Eagles just couldn't get hold of the ball and then keep it. Yet,  a couple more completions on that last drive and you possibly/probably win the game.

It will be one hell of a match-up.  Same goes for the AFC.

In the end,  we got the best 2 teams from each conference so bring it on.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to sta

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los
