As we discussed earlier in the year Dappa,  the whole Wentz/Foles/Pederson/Team & team success/chemistry thing going on at the Eagles is highly unusual.  The thing about Foles is that he is a big occasion player who is otherwise often quite average - and that's the red-herring that is hard to evaluate & quantify.

Could it be that Foles is always going to be a good player with Pederson as the head coach?  If so,  what to do?  And I reckon that the Eagles can do ok during the playoffs if you do make it ... but I reckon it's so wide open that any of the wild-card teams could do ok.  For instance; Seattle & the Chargers are not to be underestimated.

Both games (Eagles @ Washington & Niners @ Rams) are to played in the late afternoon Gorg.  And the Rams will probably be assuming that the Bears win so they have to go all-out at least until the game is safe.  But divisional games can often throw up close tussles so both games could be close anyway.  Who knows?

Yeah. There's even talk now of franchise tagging Foles to trade him. Sounds too risky and wacky for me.

There's a guy who's the biggest Philly firebrand in their local radio stations who's gone from hating Foles for the last few years to grudgingly accepting him in the superbowl to now actively calling for him to be kept on and to trade Wentz. I get the thinking... trade Wentz for Barkley and pick 1, keep Foles on cheap money, draft a new QB in 5 years. But it's silly. When you have a player like Wentz you don't move away from him.

Wnntz for Barkley and 1...

id do that trade if I was the eagles.

Giants would be mad too.

Perhaps. A decent RB is worth a lot less than a young MVP proven QB. Eagles gave up 2 firsts and a truckload more to go up 6 picks in his draft year. Not only that but Giants would get the franchise guy they need from within their own division. Wentz will still be throwing the ball when Barkley declines. It's a silly deal of course, but intriguing mostly because it's just so win-win.

  • Cowboys going all out to win was a surprise ... not resting starters.
  • Atlanta & Detroit winning will have pleased a few tipsters here
  • By contrast Miami losing was very costly for a few ?
  • Saints do rest their starters meaning Carolina romp to victory

We're all on the Eagles winning and they should win but a variety of others need either the Colts,  Bears and/or the Chargers to win.

From a playoff point of view the next 3 or 4 hours could produce quite a bit of drama whilst the SNF Colts/Titans game will decide a wild-card spot.   Pittsburgh need to win which they should do but they also need the Browns to defeat the Ravens to make the playoffs.

Exciting start to the late games. Broncos commence the game with an unsuccessful onside attempt and we’ve seen 4 picks throughout the games within 5 minutes.

Nice work Macca.

Gee whiz exciting... Trubiski still in the game, Minnesota an eye watering 16 yards of offense so far. Eagles looking the better team so far against Skins.

Min down by 2 scores Eagles up by 2 scores.... And yet... Rams being up 21-3 means they could end Eagles season. Wow.

The Bears/Vikes game is the big watch Dappa - Matt Nagy has stated that he will keep an eye on the Rams scoreline but I reckon they are enjoying winning too much to back off.  I could be wrong though.

Rams lead the 49ers  21 - 3

Bears lead the Vikes 13 - 0

Eagles lead Washington 10 - 0

Could be wishful thinking on my part but I'm with you. I don't get how you pull a guy who's flying like Trubiski because of the maths of the thing...

The only wrinkle there... Who would Nagy want to play more in the first week of playoffs. Vikings or Eagles? Going by what we've seen today, they'd do well to let Vikings win here and smash them in playoffs. Seems a bit wacky though, Div rival, they'd like to just make it simple and end their season now.

The NFC North rivalry means no prisoners ... all the teams hate each other no end.

There's a chance that the Bears will rest of few of their starters but they will still not want to lose the game.  Their defense probably stays intact?

Yup. Until the thing is definitively done. And their D is making all the running here. Currently 40 yards in a half by Vikings. So whoever gets through next week will have a big mountain to climb.

And just like that Rams 4 tds.

49ers get a late TD in the first half to keep the Rams honest.

When to rest starters and when not to rest them hey Dappa?

Great viewing - 'Redzone' in its element right now

Got rid of my subscription. lol

Yeah... this second half will be interesting in Bears game to see who's on sideline. Gee it's fun.

Rams to win you'd reckon leading the 49ers 38 - 10 and the Vikes have closed the gap on the Bears ... Vikes 10 Bears 13.  Eagles leading Washington 17 - 0.

Browns making a game of it at Baltimore ... Ravens 23  Cleveland 14

Did ‘Redzone’ say Foles has gone down to the rooms with the trainers?

Got hit in the chest where Clowney got him last week. Wentz a possibility to come back next week.

Those chest injuries can be tricky especially with regards to throwing

Wentz ok to play next week yeah?

Bears 21 Vikes 10 with under 8 minutes to go at Minnesota ... A TD with a 2 point conversion makes it 11 points the difference.

Word is he was gonna get a scan but was unlikely to play again this year. Not sure what Foles out means. Sounds to me like a rib or ribs. Apparently in a lot of pain. And no week off AFL style.

Bears go for 2. Weird. But relieved they got it.

So if Wentz is unlikely to play again this year how can he play next week?

The idea was Foles was going too well to bench anyway. Outdoing Wentz in his current shape. ie... a fully fit Wentz vs a fully fit Foles you go with Wentz. But Foles in better than a Wentz who can't move.

Not for nothing, but I actually really like Sudfeld. He's actually an ok player from what little I've seen.
