Good game today ... not fantastic but a good game all the same.  Newton seemed off with his throws all game but the Eagles D-Line and their run defense was immense.  Wentz was very impressive and Blount made a number of terrific carries.

Thought the Eagles drive for their final TD was great ... that throw under extreme pressure early in the drive from Wentz to Hollins was 'Rodgers-like' - hemmed in at their own 19 yard line and facing up to a 3rd and 16 - that was the game clincher right there.  Clutch.  3 plays later the ball is in the end zone and the score is 28 - 16.

The Panthers couldn't bridge the gap after that and never really looked like it either.

5 & 1 and the Eagles are flying.

Brave. I don't trust our ability against the run yet. It has been much better last two weeks but jags run it so well.

Yeah ... but I am the world's worst tipster.

I thought about the Giants but they couldn't possibly win in Denver could they?  Detroit would have to be a realistic chance although their road form against quality opposition and/or against solid home teams is not good at all.

I thought about Detroit too.

Giants? You'd have balls of stainless steel to pick them.

Giants won’t even come close without Beckham, Marshall and looks like DRC being suspended, their D will suffer.

Pats, packers and Tampa.

only cos I was too weak to back the eagles, even tho I thought they would do well.

You think you were weak. How do you think I feel.

Here are the games again for those who are still to do their tips ...

This is like my old reverse happiness. Tip against and if they lose, you get the going win. If they win you are too happy  to care about the tipping!

Pats
Packers
Deep regret in not doing my tips before TNF

Bucs I guess.

Was tempted to take Indy, I don't hate how they are playing as much as I should.

Whoa. Rodgers carted off.

Massive news for the NFC and NFL in general. Broken collarbone for Rodgers. Blows the whole thing wide open.

Just a lazy 103 yard kickoff return TD to make Monday easier for you there Gorg.

Jags 14 points in the first then 3 for the rest of the game. Rodgers collarbone cost me the points this week.

Alright. Back to the drawing board. Everyone's injured, or as it turns out... just [censored]...

I'd take him over Hundley but he has been black-banned.  Quite literally.

Wtf would I love Hundley?

Geesus, I just finished watching the Atlanta game... Pretty much ready to pack it in for the season, we're not good enough but things could be worse (alluding to Rodgers @Macca) That is a huge blow... Philly are the favs for the NFC now surely!

Was that a serious question or are you trolling again?

Hey hey. I aint no troll.

And yes. I saw Hundley a couple of pre-seasons ago and thought he had the goods. I think you're suffering from the fact you're used to watching Rodgers or Favre running around. You have to lower your expectations now that you have mortals under centre.

I don't think the falcons will play like that again this year. Seattle are building nicely, and Dallas are unlucky not to be 3-2.

Beat the Skins next week, and the lid that's off will be vapourised.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
