I’m going to have to stick and move like Ali to avoid the scores next Monday.

It's looking likely that I may have to do the same thing. Sucks because I've been getting really used to watching YouTube post game streams live. Bugger

So here's a question for you blokes

If you watched the Chiefs/Bills game what is your explanation for all the free scoring (with the receivers in the clear in the last few minutes)

Tired defences?

Poor defence?

X's & O's to finish with the advantage ( freed up receivers)

Poor coaching re the defence

Great coaching re the offense

Any another reason or some or all of the above

As exciting as it all was I was scratching my head with regards to the freed up receivers

Where's the defence!!

I must admit Macca, I was surprised at the bills D. They have been amazing all year. Yet vs Chiefs they missed lots of tackles, didn’t contain mAhomes at all, the play across the middle to Hill is hard cos of his speed. In saying that, the D on the last 13 seconds was super poor, give up some yards but they couldn’t give up that amount in so little time.

Why the Buccs blitzed everyone vs Stafford still baffles me, yes, Suh got to Stafford, but not until he had unloaded to Kupp.

I thought the Rams D was great all game, the Buccs got the ball back repeatedly inside our side of the field late and the D were under the pump. Other than our fumbles, our offence played well, we still ran the ball even with little yards but it made the Buccs stay focused on both run game and pass game.

I'm in the same boat next Monday ... gotta front up next Monday as it's either me that gets it done or it doesn't get done! Ugh

But I'll get to watch the Chiefs/Bengals game in its entirety so there's some saving grace

Got a strong feeling that the Rams/49ers game will be 'One for the Ages'

I'll be tuning in via radio all the same ... trying to avoid scores is now just too much hard work!

Pretty stumped with this to be honest. The Bills D has been my favourite to watch this year yet it felt like they never got close to laying a glove on Mahomes. Outside contain breaking down regularly and no 15 able to extend plays like they're going out of style.

I always felt the Bills could score, I've felt the KC defense has laboured a bit lately but this was pretty out of control. No doubt both defenses were spent by the end but yeah, id say theres a few reasons for it.

Personally I'm not calling bad coaching on the 13 second drive for a FG. Poor execution on that one, likely fatigue.

It’s the old don’t get beaten by what you know, I would have only rushed 2, 3max.(they ain’t running it!) Double Hill, double Kelce and see if Pringle or others beat you.

Much easier said than done tho.

How about the Rams today?

Was that a choke even though they won?

Well they did a good job of trying to throw it away. Their quarterback is nearly as fraudulent in playoffs as Rodgers.

Why facepalm? Give us one bit of evidence that it isn't the truth in the last 10 years.

Underperformed at times maybe, fraud is too much though. Equal 2nd for touchdown throws in playoffs with a guy named Montana and behind another bloke called Brady who is lapping everyone at this point.

Rams need to commit 100% to stopping the run. Make Jimmy beat us. If their run game gets going it’s going to be hard. Contain and stop the run. Let the secondary do their job.
Whit and Rapp hopefully back next week.

And if Stafford plays as well as he did against the Bucs, that will be a big concern for the 49ers

A QB rating of 121 on the road at Tampa is a real achievement.  But he definitely passed the eye-test anyway

The last drive of 5 plays and 63 yards was crunch-time excellent

Interesting that there were a number of pundits predicting that the Rams would win the SB after the acquisition of Stafford (who, lets face it, basically carried Detroit on his shoulders)

Stafford is his own worst enemy. When he stuffs up, it’s always huge. He tries to hold onto the ball too long at times and not throw it away. Does poor interceptions but later with thread the needle, stand there and get hit as he makes the throw (last throw to Kupp the perfect example). But I think McVay is also Staffords worst enemy. The great thing vs the Buccs was we ran the ball 25 times for sod allyards, quite a few loss of yards plays, but the fact McVay kept calling them meant the Buccs had to stay up at the line meaning less in their secondary so his throws were easier.

If we can get some sort of run game going bs the niners front that means Stafford has time to make his throws. Our okay calling on both sides of the ball with be interesting.

Well I haven't really watched many neutral games this season but Stafford played very well yesterday ... better than my expectations

But whilst he's got a receiver like Kupp (who can create terrific separation) Stafford just needs to through the ball to him.  And his accuracy is very good in that scenario

Which means that the 49ers need to be able to deal with Kupp.  Let him loose and Stafford will find him (in my view)

Much easier to do if we can run the ball.
I said a few weeks ago that Beckham will tear a game apart in the play offs, has been good in both games, bs Cardinals would have had over 100yrds if not for penalties.

I hope you does it this week.

To put on my negative/jinxing hat on for a sec, it is all setup for the Rams to break the hoodoo against the Niners. Playoff football is different to regular season divisional games and there is some serious weaponage on this Rams team.

Trent Williams looks a day to day situation at the moment. Was on the crutches after the game. Really hope he can get up.

Personally I'm struggling to see how we keep OBJ quiet twice in 3 weeks but that's just me.

Three games of 5 between the sides have been decided by a FG. IIRC, Niners have got the job done. I expect a more aggressive Rams offence. Wether this will be a good thing or Bad time will tell.
What I do expect is more running attempts and screens, especially early.

rams could go in the healtheist they have been nearly all Season, Whitworth, Rapp should be back, Jones could also be back adding another LB. Nick Scott has been great in the last two weeks, but Rapp being back is huge.

And we have to Deebo who has destroyed us multiple times and Elijah who ran the ball with ease against us 3 weeks ago.

I just want to preface this by saying I'm not trying to be cynical of jinxy, but I do feel like the winning streak we have over you means very little right now and I also feel like the more you lose against a team the closer you come you beating them with learnings and stuff.

If the Rams establish any sort of running game I will be very very nervous.

I’d sort of agree but Steve Young says hi (15-2 vs Rams).

One of the best rivalries in football right now Gorg. I'm loving it.

We're going to have our hands full in coverage, Ambrey Thomas still 50-50 and I've really liked his positioning work. Also anything that keeps that PI machine Josh Norman off the field is a plus. Kupp I'm conceding several catches to already, he's too hot right now. Can we minimise the damage from OBJ and Higbee. I don't know.

Wonder how Steve's arm is..

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
