If our Oline can hold their [censored] together for 2 seconds longer it would really help, got to really open lanes too.

Keenum is throwing better but that's more to them overloading the box, on long downs he is still poor.

This week is seriously hard for tipping (not that any other week is easy) Broncos look a lock on paper but I reckon the Chargers are due & divisonal games are usually hard fought.

Another 7 road winners last week but once again there was zero action on the tipping leaderboard.  Every year my thoughts are to think outside the square with my tipping but it's difficult to stray away from the more obvious tips.

The intolerable cruelty of this comp is relentless.  My kingdom for a point!

We're out of synch though and need to get better in a hurry.  Rodgers is nearly always rusty after a bye or a week off but he's still a ways off his best, all the same.  The Giants were even more unimpressive.

I might even pick your Rams this week ... these are the sort of games that the Rams win.

The Falcons are flying ... some very impressive wins in this run and your schedule starts getting easier soon

3 games clear of the Panthers ... Carolina's season is just about shot already.  Who predicted that?

Ha!  Prescott is making the decision to bring in Romo a difficult one.

Nice position to be in, all the same.

Anyway, your Vikings are 5 & 0 without Teddy & AP. Amazing.

Gonna be hard to chase down by the looks of it.

Vikes are doing well as long as we stop any more injuries. We've lost 3 O linesman and against the Texans our backup guard had to play as a tight end. We signed Jake Long yesterday so hopefully he is fit. A vikings fan was stabbed in Wisconsin for having an inflatable viking in his front yard. Rodgers better tell everyone to relax you guys are doing pretty well even if it hasnt  all clicked yet.

Couldn't pick the Rams in the end Gorgo but I'll no doubt pay a price ... it's a trap game for the Steelers too.

The AFC West is tightening up after the Chargers win yesterday - however, the Raiders have a chance to go to 5 & 1 if they can defeat KC at home.  Their schedule isn't tough either so they could make a break from their rivals.

I had a feeling the Chargers would win.. Saw a stat that during 4 of their losses when they were leading in the 4th qrt their likely hood of winning was 85% or more % in all but they found a way to lose... I have the same feeling with the Steelers reckon Miami could get them at home.

Interesting move if the Raiders were to move to Vegas, I don't think a team there would be viable but obviously they think so. Would be a big move for the players from the Californian coast to the bright lights & desert of Vegas.

A lot of the paying customers could be tourists initially but they'd probably get good support anyway ... I reckon it could work based on all sorts of factors.  The City has a population of just over 600,000 but there were over 42 million people who visited the City just last year.  That's a lot of cashed-up people.

The road team fans could be a big factor too ... especially from Denver, KC & San Diego.  The NFL would possibly schedule in a Steelers game there as well to kick things off.

Mark Davis pledging 500 million says to me that the move is going to happen save for the red tape.

Packers were very very average as well but Dallas are more than decent, all the same.  Prescott out-dueled Rodgers quite easily too - the bloke can play.  Green Bay lack purpose and vitality - we need a spark from somewhere.

Some good finishes today ... important wins to Detroit,  Seattle,  Washington,  KC,  Buffalo,  & the Giants.  Texans win in O/T and the Jags got up for Clintosaurus but alas, no movement in the tipping comp.  Incredibly (or not so incredibly), 1 point still leads the way.

Next week looks like a good round for road winners but who would know cfh?  Schedule week 7

Two dumb decisions by the Rams cost us a chance. 4th and goal. Ball on the 1 yrd line with 4 seconds  left in the half, game 14-14 and we go for it with a run... kick the FG, take the lead. Our oline is not good enough 95% of the time especially in obvious run situations.

The second was Keenum targetting Britt with 1.26 on the clock when there was three players on him. Throws the pick. Game over.

Dumb calls. Still have a super poor secondary.

I still hate fisher.

There is a good read on bleacher report stating Rodgers is still very good but after years of making plays out of nowhere it has ruined his throwing mechanics and he isn't going through his receiver options that well. I haven't seen any other green Bay game apart from week 2. I'll never count green Bay out but they would want to get going soon.

I've watched most of the snaps in our games and we're playing like an 8 & 8 team ... it's not just Rodgers, it's every facet and the coaching and play calling as well.

Of course, things can swing very quickly in this league so I'm not writing the team off ... at times last season we played great but I haven't seen it at all this season apart from our first half against Detroit.  Standards are high so one decent half doesn't cut it by any means.   Schedule starts getting tough soon with a number of road games so we'll soon find out how good the team is.

Take the win and move on ... the Bears not having a QB of note from early in the game made the winning of the game by the Packers imperative.  Without a running back of note the Packers decided to use Rodgers for an abundance of short cut-out passes - worked well but I'm not surprised, the Pats have used Brady in this way for an age.

Next up is @ the Falcons in week 8 - a shoot-out is on the cards.

Tips ...

Oakland

Patriots

Ravens

Trumaine Johnson and Brokers out, Quinn and Hayes questionable... Yay, our best secondary player is out vs Beckham Jnr.

I don't want to watch this game...

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
