UNIQUE NFL FANTASY PLAYERS WANTED - WINNER $500

Want to win $500? Sick of the vanilla nfl.com standard fantasy settings? well i am. So ive created a very customised league on nfl.com fantasy (it took me north of an hour to make it detailed, but simple at the same time). Feel free to ask me questions about the scoring and line ups and what not. This is an INDIVIDUAL DEFENSIVE PLAYERS (IDP) as well as an offense league. the line up is
2 x QB
2 x RB
2 x WR
1 x TE
1 RB/WR/TE flex
1 x Kicker
3 x DLINE
3 x LB's
3 x DB's
1 x FLEX
1 x Team (only counts for points and yards conceded, as the sacks and turnovers are given to the players)

Attached are the top 3 players in each position to give you a general idea of how the players score. If you look at their stats, you will get an idea of what contributes to their score. It is very detailed, so much so that every play in the NFL SHOULD contribute to at least one persons team.

We already have 8 players in a 12 team league, and we are doing divisions. So this would be a perfect league to do with a few friends as ill make sure youre in the same division (play eachother twice a year). There are 12 people in the league, $50 buy in. winner takes all except R/U gets $50 money back.
If you have any questions, please feel free and i will answer them.

Cam newton gets into a fight the other day then Geno Smith gets his jaw broken in the locker room!

Some pent up anger.

4 weeks out from the real stuff tomorrow.. Too early to be posting division winner predictions ? Seems the season has creeped up quickly. Super Bowl only feels like weeks ago

Speaking of which, here's the Super Bowl in 2 parts ... unlike the other highlights, the players and coaches are miked up in these 2 clips ... it would be great if we could hear this sort of stuff when watching "live" games ...

11 of 11 ... Super Bowl - Patriots/Seahawks

I missed all the pre season games last year... How much time do the starters usually play ? Guessing it won't be much. Looking forward to tomorrow though!

First game is usually all fringe players, then small amounts of first teamers until the last game.

Usually the third pre season game is when the starters get a real shot. Right now they have one drive and are off for the rest of the game. Some players seasons are over already due to injury. Some others are due to being far too entertaining eg: geno and the jets. If there was ever a franchise that finds new ways to implode it is the jets. Good on em it keeps me entertained.

Yep, Foles ran two drives, the opening drive for a FG then a second drive and day done.

Hayne had a fair crack. A 53 yard run and a few good returns. Good on him.

Gaines is out for the season for us, lisfranc... That hurts us in the secondary, he was very very good last year.

Salford also hurt his shoulder, the good one, he had the other reconstructed last year now hurts the other. Hoping only a minor injury there tho.

Tebow did ok in yesterday's game for the Eagles vs the Colts - ran in a TD and threw 6/12 for 69 yards. He's probably 4th in line behind Bradford, Barkley and Sanchez but you never know.

The way Kelly uses his players, I wouldn't be surprised to see Tebow at least remain on Philadelphia's roster.

As a 49ers fan, the prospect of Hayne making the roster and getting some kick/punt returns is one of the few things exciting me about this season.

Macca, I thought Tebow looked surprisingly good from those highlights!

Anyone think Lynden Dunn will try his luck as a punter after his AFL career ? His few long bombs on the weekend certaintly had some height and distance on them.. Will be interesting to see if it's something he pursues.

Don't get me started on tebow. I know he gets a lot of media attention and he isn't the best thrower of all time but the bloke took a 1-4 Denver and got them to the playoffs and won a playoff game against Pittsburgh. The next year he was a jet and that ruined him him. He should've gone to Jacksonville where he was guaranteed the starting gig but for him to have been out of the league for two years is a joke when a lot of teams have no QB's.

Yeah the injuries are starting to rise for every team. We lost our best O linesman for the year. I find it a bit odd that NFL players have a long off season and their CBA has them do very little physical contact at mini camps and yet they have a huge amount of long term injuries. Maybe I'm not giving the sport it's due for how physical it is but I look at Nba players who have nearly no break and play game after game and keep fit. I know they are two different sports I just find it a bit odd.

The 2 point conversion and the probable extra use of it may well bring Tebow back into the sport ... as you said cfh, he should be able to get a gig when there's approximately 100 QB's in the sport (when including all the rostered back-ups) And he may well be suited to Kelly's fast pace offense at the Eagles - I'd like to see him make his way back. Hayne is doing everything right so far as well.

As for Dunn as a punter JV7, I can't see why not but the punters all seem to have that 3 or 4 step walk up style - he'd need to learn it. Good coin too considering it's a 2nd sporting career that an Aussie rules player wouldn't ordinarily have. Both Sav and Ben Graham played a number of games. McBriar eked out 12 seasons and is now retired.

Rg3 got smacked around today. He got hit a lot and got hit hard. I'll be surprised if his body holds up over time.

Initial diagonsis Jordy Nelson has torn his ACL.. Huge loss for the packers!!

Edited by JV7

Yeah that's bad for the packers.

Macca prob ain't holding up well at the moment.

Hammers lose at home to Bournemouth, Demons smashed and I'm greeted with the Nelson news first thing this morning.

Ugh ugh ugh!

I shouldn't be praising Green Bay but I will. Rodgers makes receivers look good. Nelson is a huge loss due to his big play ability but they have been talking up second year WR Adams all training camp. Receivers leave Green Bay for huge contracts and then come back to earth when they don't have Rodgers throwing them the ball. Still the NFC North favourites.

Your team payed way overs for Jennings for instance but I'm not sure he was ever that good anyway.

Every team gets injuries but unless it's an out and out game breaker like AP or Rodgers, those teams just have to get on with it. To my way of thinking, it all evens itself out when it comes to injuries. Footy is the same - we're not the only team who gets a rash of injuries.

Nelson going down gives more opportunities to the other WR's & TE's but a lot still rests with Rodgers anyway - same as the Pats with Brady etc etc. Cobb probably becomes the main man exclusively and he's very capable. Devante Adams shows a lot of promise also.

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons have the Bye next week but then are on the road once again when they come up against the Gold Coast Suns on the Gold Coast in what could be a last ditch effort to salvage their season. Who comes in and who comes out?

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
