Bloody niners...

I like Davis, I think he is good, but when things start going against us, he doesnt step up and take control, I hope he learns that over the year cos if he does he could be a high quality QB.

Our D is poo!!!! Absolute Poo!!!!

Gone from the best to so pisspoor it's horrible to watch, we get leads and then the D makes stupid mistakes and then they get a run on and our O line collapses.

Fisher will be gone by week 14.

Yeah I've seen enough to put him ahead of a lot of so called starters, or starters to be... Cousins, Manuel, Fitzpatrick and more. I think he'll have a starting job next year. Though it's hard to say where. And the fact he's undrafted and 4th string in a club without a star QB, that's pretty amazing.

I took your D in my fantasy teams. About ready to drop them for good.

I like Fisher. I reckon he'll take over at, I dunno, Jax if he gets dropped.

All games are presented very well and a NFL games looks so much better on TV then the standard definition crap we have. I don't have a real solid hatred for any team. I get a kick out of seeing Dallas die off at the end of the year and the jets are good for a laugh. With so many games they aren't all the same either. Watching a eagles game is different to watching a Seattle game. I'm even a fan of Aaron Rodgers. He destroys us every year but it's a bit like watching Ablett play.

Yep, I also find it hard to hate any team ... within our division there is so much history that it's hard to not at least respect the other teams. Detroit fans deserve better and they might keep up their good form, the Bears have traditionally had great D and when Cutler is on, he's dangerous ... your Vikings really miss AP. Such a shame. Bridgewater could be the goods - needs a good crack at it.

Yeah I agree. There's players you just tune in to watch, much more than AFL. Shady I think is one. Petersen when he's not busy looking for his switch and smoking dope. And to be honest the reason I'm into the NFL is about 50% Eagles (I traded following Eagles and Philles in the NFL and MLB to my mate if he followed the demons and Aussie cricket team)... and 50% Mike Vick. He's still the most fun NFL player I've watched.

I actually prefer Rogers to Manning. Manning is the best, but there's something dull about how he plays. Maybe it's cos I can't read what he's doing as well as someone who grew up with Grid Iron. He's more an intellectual fan favourite.

I can watch just about any match-up but I've always liked the NFC East divisional games ... all of them. Big cities, big teams & historic rivalries. Dallas firing is good for the sport. America's team? Here's JR before he passed

San Francisco, the Saints, Ravens, Steelers and Chargers are probably my other favourite teams to watch - all those teams have QB's that can stand out. The big match-ups on SNF or MNF are what I look forward to. Next weeks SNF game is 49ers @ Denver ... should be a beauty.

Enjoying the Cowboys resurgence. For a while them finishing 8 - 8 and just missing playoffs was as amusing as Richmond finishing ninth. Now while Dallas to me are like a Carlton or Collingwood, it certainly livens the league when they are up & about

GAee whiz Smith is crap

I thought yesterdays game was a pretty entertaining game to watch. Right to the wire.

Amendola's TD was awesome!

  • Author

Yeah got good in the end. Even Smith looked like he came into his own on that last drive. Shame about his 2 pointer though.

How are the Patriots 5-2? Surely they're one of the weakest 5-2 sides of the last few years? I really don't see them as a genuine threat at all. I guess someone's got to win AFC East though.

Pumped for SF-Denver, although I think we'll get well beaten.

Same as Eagles. Well coached, not much cattle. One superstar started the year not going well...

We get to face Seattle this week.

This could be very very ugly.

No Percy Harvin anymore. Got traded for a mid round pick to the Jets. From all reports he was a complete toss when he was a Viking and it appears he was the same in Seattle. A big talent though.

Yeah I read that about one hour ago, could not believe it.

We did quite well on the run last week, need to really be on our toes for Lynch and Wilson running the ball.

All teams are really working on Quinn, hopefully he can get to the QB a bit this game.

We still have only one sack for the year...

Rams making the Cowboys recent success against the Hawks look second rate... That fake out for the punt return was faaaantastic.

Go rams. That was a great game to watch. St. Louis pulled some plays out of nowhere to get that win. The punt return TD fooled the camera man as well and then the fake punt was awesome. I was surprised they didn't try the Flying V from the mighty ducks movies.

Just saw the fake punt. Gutsiest cll this year?!!

Watched a chunk of 'Niners getting mauled by Denver. Ouch

Moving right along

I'll trade you Foles for Davis. Seriously, the kid might not be Manning, but right now i'd have him ahead of half the starting QBs in the game. He was sensational against a tough defense.

And care to comment on Fisher's play calling? Or was he just saved by genius special teams...

Ok, so I'm gonna go ahead and canvas peoples' interest in NFL fantasy. Does anyone play it here? Does anyone play Ultimate footy or dream team in the AFL?

My bro and I started the Ultimate Footy league on demonland, but had to get out because of, let's just say, OVER interest.

I'm in a 10 team league right now, and it's just the right amount of smack talk and interest. I also find that being a fantasy NFL player is better than AFL, since you don't really care QUITE as much about your favourite team in the NFL... and there's that much football that has no bearing on your own division that you're never conflicted.

It's also a lot simpler as there's not so many options, and also a lot smoother since the yanks have been doing it for a long time.

So what say you, NFL fans? Anyone up for it? If you're looking for a personal opinion on whether or not it's worth it, first take your head out from underneath the rock, then ask someone... anyone... if it's fun. Or just ask me. It's awesome and we should all be doing it.

Special teams did save us a bit.

I'll def keep Davis, I've even said I think he will replace Bradford. They did the right thing by keeping it simple early.

Our D stepped right up in the second, but once again second half we let a lot of bad plays through.

And we nearly stuffed it by fumbling the ball with under a min to go, FFS, just drop after getting the first down and take the win.

We have always done a lot of special team fakes, but that kick return was insane. I had to re watch it a few times as my eyes kept following Austin.

Ha. Yeah there's some odd things going on with your D. Is it a scheme/DC thing maybe? They were the next big thing in fantasy. I picked, and luckily had Green Bay as a backup.

And yeah the Bradford thing is what's great about Davis. He's this completely free pick, 4th string, and he's been really, really good. From what I've seen, you'd be quite comfortable keeping Davis.

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
