There alot of excitement about Wonna which I think is ahead of what he has produced to date.

Many speak fondly of the Jurrah/Wonna/Bennell and some attribute the X factor to them.

Well I have seen the X factor in Jurrah but Wonna has not shown enough for that accolade.

Hope he knuckles down and performs next year.

A fair assessment, RR. I definitely agree that fitness is an issue, but I'm not too worried about his low possession count this year; I think it's understandable given his injury situation. It'd want to improve, of course, but I'm confident it will.

While I'm a fan of the guy, the "X factor" tag doesnt fit him at all; I honestly think it gets thrown around just because he's Aboriginal and a small forward. He doesnt exhibit any "spectacular" or "dynamic" traits that set him apart from other players, like a Jurrah or even (to a much lesser extent, due to his speed) a Bennell.

I think he'll be a very good player for us, but in almost the opposite way. Rather than having freakish attributes that make him spectacular to watch, I just see him being a well-rounded footballer with sound fundamentals who does the basics very, very well. Good disposal, good awareness, decent speed, very good reader of the play, fantastic pressure when he doesnt have the ball (probably his main strength), etc. I can see him being the sort of player who can go onto a wing, flank or pocket at any line on the field, as the game dictates, and do an exceptional job of whatever task is needed.

That's what I hope for and expect from him. As you said, the big issue is whether he can get to and maintain the required fitness level; I've got no concerns about his actual football ability.

Wonna has shown, on a high number of occassions, acts of freakishly abnormaly good football that has produced the goods for the footy club. Jurrah has done it at a much higher rate but that's because he is a one-in-a-billion freak
