McDonald - out in style

Moloney - gave his heart

Morton - disappointing despite ability

Rivers - showed his class

Wonna - Did a hamstring.

Rivers - kicking turnovers, goals.

Garland - went off injured (came back but no good)

Jones - quiet until injured - Just beaten by a champion. No disgrace there.

Trengove - just a game - Thought he did some very nice things. 1%er sort of stuff.

Wonaeamirri - needed more involvement - Needed more ball. His chasing was very, very good and caused some panic.

Newton - failed last chance - Did he play? A waste of a selection.

Scully's ability to run out games to the very end of the season in his first year spells trouble for our future opposition once he irons out the flaws in the his game and builds up a bit more bulk. The midfield was where this game was decided and its where we still need a lot of work, especially at the stoppages. (injuries to key players hurt us here - Davey, Moloney. McDonald at different times this year). I agree with Bailey that apart from a few additional players (e.g. marking forward target) we have the core of a potent attach and strong defence and have the elements to build an awesome midfield, but this will perhaps take a little bit longer for these guys to learn the ins and outs of the midfield and to work as a unit.

Watts - took it on

Watts - took it on

Yep, agree totally. He did some really nice things. Seemed to tire towards then end and gave up on tackles he should have pursued. But some nice marks and classy decisions.

His 40 metre left foot pass from the wing/half-forward was awesome.

Scott - Youth excitement envy?

Does this guy have to whinge at every media interview that his young players don't get talked up in the media? They really are in desperate need of some excitement thats for sure if they are to survive as a club. Great to know for once we at least have the off field component well and truly sorted and just need to ensure we keep kicking goals on the field, literally and figuratively... :)

Is the fact they play a relatively boring chocking zone that the players get lost in the confusion or that they are overlooked because they still rely on the same old heads to get them through?

Jamar - a tired game

Pretty much with you 100% apart from these two. Green was good, but despite his return I think he could have been better today. Few dud kicks that you would not usually expect. Jamar, was tired, we've ridden him all year, but he smashed it in the hit outs so that seems a harsh assessment to me.

He is a [censored] and his club is a [censored]. "Stop talking about them! Look at me!" Should have gone to the Gold Coast with it's seven supporters.

Where are those White Knights Brayshaw?

I've never been one for putting the boot into a struggling club but when they keep putting the boot into mine they can just [censored] off and die.

Morton's game reminded me of a game against the Bulldogs at Telstra Dome a year or two ago when he had about 30 possessions and turned it over 29 times.

totally agree...."butcher" morton

Watts - took it on

I think Watts lacks confidence to take the game on - to have shots for outside 50 to run with the ball when clear - the confidence will come.

Newton - failed last chance - Did he play? A waste of a selection.

He injured his calf (and was using crutches after the game).

Brad Scott is an A-grade [censored].

Instead of focusing on his club, he was all over making comparisons between our clubs.

Just focus on surviving in Victoria and STFU. We don't need you to worry about us and how we're developing.

What did he say? Was this in his press conference? I know the Norf supporters are annoyed at the media for loving our young players, but I didn't know Scott was whinging also.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
