Salopek Wants Out

There is no good end to this story. We were lucky he did re-sign back in 2010, because we would be paying $350,000 for a "VFL" player - he has either sidelined for part of this year and even struggled to make the SANFL firsts. I am sure we are still better then a SA side, and given that, he would struggle - we have Casey at the top of the VFL.

Textbook uneducated post.

Salopek, whilst not being selected in the AFL side, was expected by Port to be playing SANFL firsts and pushing for a senior recall.

The counterproductive SANFL / AFL club agreement meant Salopek's SANFL club was unwilling to play him and demote one of their players who filled the same role, in the search for SANFL wins and a finals berth (their priority over playing a Port-listed player into form).

He's not the best player getting around, but he was definitely a victim of the circumstances.

still if he any good he would of being play for the power, it was not as if they were winning and had heaps of player inform.

You cant play into form in the magoo's magoo's, will be hard to step up VFL/SANFL - AFL imo yet another step back

I dont know of his shutout situation though

No No No Noooo

We have enough outside players, he is selfish ,and the big negative is that his shoulder is like a ckicken wish bone!! keep away from at all costs!!

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
