Match Day Thread

You know who would be good today?

Miller. :D

Or Dunn for that matter. :D

let try something different... put rivers or someone else in the FL...

go Skulls..( still not a foward kicking a goal)

Scully makes up for an easy miss, with a good goal..

Playing horribly,, amazed were still in this match

PJ.. what a joke... get rid of him

Can you tell Watts' starting position? Half forward?

Sounds to me like he's playing miles out of the forward line. On the times he takes a grab (and don't the callers get excited) you always hear he's 2 kicks from goal.

Frawley? Or do we need him in defence?

I'm his biggest supporter. And even I say he's cooked here. This is exactly when he could have shown what he's worth. Not that he's had a huge amount of opportunity. But against this mob? He SHOULD have taken some sort of grab by now.

That Rosa goal... proof.

We don't want this.

We're lucky to even be close. We're done.

Gonna need a massive effort to come back from here. 2 goals in a low scoring game is a problem

3/4 time, and we're 2 goals down.

Those first two to Kennedy are looking a bit nasty now, aren't they?

Moloney, Bruce, Garland, McKenzie, Frawley, Rivers, Jamar, and especially Grimes and JMac have been very good.

But we have a LOT of passengers.

Bennell, PJ, and particularly Sylvia have been not so good. In general though, our forward line are a mess. There's ok names in there, who are all doing enough (Green, Watts, Hughes all showing a bit here and there).... but no-one good enough to take the game by the scruff of the neck.

Bate exempt cos of his injury. Also, he's somehow playing ok.

The difference between this team and the one we've liked watching this year is actually the midfield. Scully and Trengove aren't doing as much as in previous weeks, which is completely understandable.

We're lucky to even be close. We're done.

Not done, we haven't even started! Backs are doing well, but under the hammer the whole day.

Watts has been playing between the 50s - started on Glass in the f50 early, but Bails moved him quickly for no reason.. a shocking coaching performance from Bailey today.

we look tired.

LeCras will kick this second attempt and does...

We are a rabble.

Worst we've looked since the Hawks game. And we're not a HUGE amount ahead of that.

15 minutes to go here. We need to kick 4 straight.

We're done.

What a humiliating loss.

What an appalling game of footy. That's the worst part. We weren't outmuscled, or outplayed...

We were just shitter than a REALLY [censored] team.

15.21 kicked for the game.

Amateur hour.

Embarrassing. Our 'senior' players have let us down so badly today.

No run out of the backline. Davey had to of been played off half back in that second half.

Bate has been atrocious this quarter, pity, he's been ok up to now

Give him a break. He's been one of our best today, and that's with a bung ankle. Him and Green are just about our only forwards. As an aside, how clean are Watts' hands? It's a shame he's got a bit of Bruce about his kicking action. I hope that was just nerves, but I'm a little worried about that.

north bulldogs WC,,, losslossloss.. something is not working.... they need to do some big changes...

  • POSTGAME: Hawthorn

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
