Especially early on, when very few players (particularly MFC players) could handle the ball cleanly, the one bloke doing it consistently for us (all night) was Jamie Bennell. I thought he played another gem of a game and playing him forward has been a masterstroke thus far. As for his goal, what a cracker. Firstly the evasiveness and then the poise to finish in the wet conditions -- brilliant. I just thought he deserved a bit of love. Keep it up, Jamie!

Yep, he's responding to the pasting he's copped over earlier indiscretions. He was dangerous tonight.

One of his best games, his handball to set up the Bate goal in the 3rd qtr was great also as he knew he'd get hit and he took it. Unfortunatly he dropped out of the game after that, but he's improving with every week also.

Loved his game tonight. After he smashed through the two doggies to win the ball and kick *that* goal I turned to my mate and said 'soft?' took the hits, did the work required, didn't dominate but worked hard, and the mark over near the members was a pearler.

Played well. Kicked the goal of the week and probably took a contender for mark of the week too.

I still want to see a better 4-quarter effort, but he's getting there.

It was a great goal, but let's not get carried away. There's already been more 'spectacular' goals kicked than that one this year, and there will be plenty more. Ditto the mark.

he lacks spatial awareness which may come with time on field.

He is getting better with game time the only thing he really lacks is awareness. He is never going to be a tough in and under ball winner he is a receier with speed and class, you won't see him get many hard ball gets but i would like to see him go hard when its his turn. Good work and just another talent coming through the ranks we really are building a very even side with alot of depth.
