Matchday thread vs North

Featured Replies

Good transition. Warnock marks. Davey cute kick to release from defensive 50. Sylvia fumbles inside 50, poor snap for a point.

Swallow goals for North. Clearances 10 to 3 to North

Not 15!!!!!! Umpire creates goal for North

Bullsh!t cheating pathetic piggy umpires arent helping our cause..

But its the unadventurous dees of old today.. not good

out played and out coached in the first qtr. Bailey's good few weeks could stand for nothing if he is reactive and not pro active!

2:47 to go. MacDonald wins 50 .... [Deleted - Passage of play too [censored] to describe]

Qtr time

NM 21 - Mel 13

Bruce dunn frawls our better players

Horrible to watch. But 1 positive is -esp in comparison to the last few weeks- we can only get better!

EDIT: was gonna say I hope Bailey rips into them.. Glad he did.

Edited by DemonDan...

Horrible footy to watch. Hate this stadium. Roos are pushing us along the wings out of the corridor, let's come out firing dees. Being smashed in clearances and hard ball gets though not a good sign

Corridor footy is great fun to watch... but a rarity, and there's good reason. If a professional side is on a ground it knows how to play, they block that avenue.

If we're as good as we think, we should have a plan B.

tackling is for life, not just for xmas boys..

it has to be EVERY week.

If we're as good as we think, we should have a plan B.

Two let-offs for MFC. Grimes kicks out not touched. North free. Davey caught 40 out. Swallow another shot on goal. Misses

Ziebell shot on goal. OOF

Dee's can't get it past the centre

Lazy. Pettard goes for specky. Hands in back again

hold our structure.. man, i will need a good physio after this game because i have not stopped shaking my head since this game has started.

not calling it yet, but wont be long.

Slight step up in intensity. Scully caught. Moloney can't break tackle. Shot on goal by Hale. Goal

Nup

Were not good enough to have a working 'plan A and plan B'.. yet..

Weve only been playing well for a few weeks..

We should stick to whats been working and try to beat them through the corridor, take them on.. own it..

Thats the only way we'll win..

Trengove, Bate quiet. NM actually tacking. Melbourne just scragging. Wells goals from forward pocket.

Umpiring is a disgrace. We are not much better.

Man...

They're playing us like we've been playing other sides.

We're done here. Looking at a BIIIG thrashing.

Scully running shot from 50. Misses.

Calling it! cant win a game if we cant get the ball or try to get it back.

Pressure and tackling are shocking. we have taken 3 big steps fwd this year, today we are tacking one back!

Joel Macdonald big turnover for NM goal. Blinded by the light

[censored] this, looks like i picked the wrong day to give up smoking!

i am going outside, hopefully when i come back, we have at least scored!

Trengove snags free. Long ball from Grimes to top of square. Pettard contests but comes out holding shoulder.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
